AFLW: Rd 03 vs Collingwood

Featured Replies

Awful game. Not playing to the conditions either.

Umpires helping Collingwood here.

No way that kick didn't travel the distance, no holding the ball etc.

High pressure game, we are struggling to use the ball cleanly which is our game. I suspect we are trying to keep Collingwood from scoring and win it that way, rather than win it by smashing them.

We are really lacking run at the moment. Purcell, Heath, Mackin and Goldie missing really hurting our ball movement. Have to tough it out this second half and need a lift from Tyler, Eliza and Katie.

Heath out. Went for a HIA. Reports on tv said "she's ruled out for the rest of the game with an elevated heart rate".

I have no idea what that means.

Just kick it off the ground instead of trying to pick up and fumble. Game slipping away otherwise.

Win a [censored] clearance FFS

Unreal goal to Hore, snapping around her body in traffic in the pocket.

That's better. Dees football.

Has the weather cleared a bit? We look a little cleaner with the ball and have started moving it really well.

Hore has been pushed forward of the ball (after being behind the ball and on the ball in the first half), and she's been instrumental in both goals.

And it was play on before the 50 but a different ump paid that. Shambles.

Great one on one win there, and a good long kick.

Boy we are fumbly below the knees, even Paxy who usually so clean. The only clean player is Hanks.

And then there is Harris - what a gun. Strong, agile, impacting.

Cream rising to the top - Hore, Zanker & Chaplin.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
