Half time

Best of the dees are Billings (save for some ordinary disposals), Laurie, Spargo with Adams and Tholstrup being solid.

Tall forwards struggling to get involved playing on quality defenders and being let down by some delivery inside 50.

Not much here that offers hope for the future. No impact from the tall forwards, Laurie as unreliable in front of goal as ever and Hawthorn as slick as their seniors: everything we are not

I agree. Is the lack of young quality players coming through a result of trading away so many 2nd, 3rd & 4th rounders to get back into the first round over recent years?

Wasn’t Bailey Laurie a player that was a result of trading back into the first round?

Hawks pick off Casey for another Seagull.*

Kynan Brown great rundown tackle!

Better quarter from Casey back in the game but profligate with ball use.

Jack Billings sailing into the sunset in full sail. Having a serious crack.

Some of the younger brigade lifting too. Paddy Cross, Riley Baldi, Pup, Kolt come on!

  • soft over the back sling shot goal untouched by opposition opponents.

Frankston are doing the job for us against the Brisbane Lions - a win could put Casey in the top six and a possible break in the week before the finals proper get under way.

Are we expecting a bigger crowd at Casey than they will get at Hobart? Maybe a larger television audience?

Heaps of people here. It’s sunny with no wind.

Nice to see many of the firsts here.

Just as well Bonner snagged that after burning Spargypants

Jeffo off with a right foot issue, big toe. Grimacing in pain. They’re taping it up now

He’s on the stationary bike now. He said it’s still sore but not broken. Phew

Ripper Riley Bonner!!! One of the goals of the season.

Luker on the scoresheet measured accurate goal kick.

Casey now challenging Dawks.

AJ slips catch and goal.

Casey hit the front 58 to 53.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
