An open letter to Paul Gardner

Recommended Posts

What a load of crap this thread is and goes to show why we are rated a soft club in the eyes of the football world, take the emotion of out of it.

Oh and people seem to forget that ND had a clause in his contract (he had it put in) that he had to have some sought of indication by July 31st if he was to get the job next year(please correct me if I am wrong) and he could have walked at the end of the year, what would you have said then?

I am glad tha PG is conducting the review now and not later and goes to show that he has the balls to make hard decisions regarding the football department.

Thoroughly agree. (Please ignore any bias due to my Log-on name )

Yes,ND has a clause that he can start talking to other prospective employers on or after 1 August -in 4 weeks time. It was going to happen then or now.

An earlier entry talked about the flakiness of the team, unable to grab top 4 etc, from winning positions. Unfortunately this was the main issue with the team over the last 10 years. If the Board didnt finally see this last week then they should have sacked themselves.

Looking forward to the developments. Come on back Todd.

One premiership in 49 years is not good enough.

Summed up perfectly.

What about Watson and St.Kilda

Jewell and Richmond

Bartlett and Richmond (they just didnt call him back)

Jezza and carlton

Schimmelbusch and north

Blight and North

Eade and swans

Walls and Carlton

the list goes on.

Handled with reasonable dignity IMO given the above

Handled with dignity by Daniher and the club. Gardiner said the issue would come into play once the season was done and dusted which it well and truly was after one of the more insipid efforts by a Melbourne team that I've seen last Friday night. Daniher's time was up after a 10 year stint. He is a decent and good man but that does not necessarily make him the right person to coach the Melbourne Football Club. Ultimately he is damned by the fact that not once during his 10 year coaching stint did we finish in the top 4 at the end of the home and away season - it is hard to forget that we missed the double chance last year because of 2 losses to the wooden spooners - and thus secure the double chance.

One of them is an Essendon supporter and he does not count.

But I am sure Brock McLean will give his consent!

:lol::lol::lol:

I always said that he'd be gone if McLean came into the picture, not sure we discussed Finks :P

Thanks for making me laugh while I'm crippled in bed!

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
