Goody showing the guts to make tough calls where it matters.

Key defenders with 0 mobility, who can't get close to a ground ball are a massive liability.

Fast, agile, athletic defenders are where it's at.

Oh yeah Goodie is an absolute genius with his selections & tough calls. He has rushed back unfit or underprepared players for the last 4 years.

In fact it's almost become his trademark.

And hasn't it worked out wonderfully well for us.

Excellent news on Lever… and i certainly hope Viney goes forward.

Windsor is a bit stiff, but he has certainly plateaued from last year.

Goodwin is Coaching for his job

I have tipped GC, maybe it’s worth changing that

Windsor has 2nd year blues

Windsor had that foot infection at that critical end-of-pre-season/start-of-season period and has been playing catch-up ever since.

I actually thought he might have been rested or given time to refind himself a bit earlier - but reinforcements are thin on the ground, there aren't exactly a heap of players at Casey banging the door down for wing/HB positions.

Who plays ruck when Gawn rests?

Disappointed to see Windsor out, excited to see Jeffo and Kolt back in

Petty

Your premise is laughable but in any case, these aren't just Goodwin's calls.

People here seem to think the club is run like Mooroopna thirds where the coach does everything- including putting out the cones.

Viney needs to move out of the midfield

Sharp and Kolt provide bugger all

Laurie will be a good player at another club as will Roo

And Petty still gets a gig [censored]!!!

Which is why he'll keep his spot.

In: M.Jefferson, K.Tholstrup, H.Sharp
Out: J.Lever (omitted), C.Windsor (omitted), J.van Rooyen (omitted)

CALL THE PARAMEDICS..,.. IM IN SHOCK!😎😵‍💫🤯

No TMac? Wow

I guess Petty goes to defence with Jeffo coming in?

One can only hope.

tmac??????? lets please play our second best defender

mac andrew will give mj and/or petty a bath

And Sam Collins will scare the Bejesus out of them both

Demonland: We need to play the kids, they're the future.

MFC: Plays the kids

Demonland: Why aren't we playing one of the oldest guys on the list whose feet are shot?

Howes playing 3rd tall in defence for a more mobile look imo

May, Disco, Howes

I’m only here for the outrage.

I LOLOLOLOL at the fact the clown thinks he’s made some sort of selection statement by dropping a defender despite defending well (but not dropping the one who had 7 kicked in him) and 2 kids but then keeping Petty in the side

Dropping JVR over Petty shows Goodwin isn’t actually serious with his “selection statements” and hopefully the players see through it as well

Cannot wait for this contract to run down because the damage he does to this footy club in the meantime is going to be irreparable

Turner has passed TMac as second (and third) key defender.

Agreed but what about Petty?

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
