Some great footy - very noticeable how they are using lots of forward handballs like we did in the seniors last week.

Also running on top of the ground

Adams will be a player.

So Roo is back in form then…

Just had a certain goal taken off him after a beautiful lead and big shove would have put him in the goal square but for a reversal (Laurie smashed into a tiger's player)

Surely this will be Laurie's last season at the Dees? If we are truly in the middle of a "rebuild", he offers very little for our future.

JVR would have had his 6th but for a reversal...

Pretty impressive quarter and the AFL brigade showed a bit in particular Brown (great goal and 10 possies for the qrt). The VFL players still a key part of the win with Bonner potentially looking at a 50-possession game and Baldi and Hardie also playing well.

Just a very silly boy otherwise a contributor.

He's been really good actually so far in this game - was just flying the flag, which i don't mind (JVR had been driven into the ground after his mark)

He just seems to be stuck in between AFL/VFL. How many years has he been in the system?

Five flagpoles on the scoreboard . KC with “Call Me The Breeze”.

And on cue Bailey nails one from 50

Laurie kiss and makeup. Nice goal.

I’m not sure what we take out of this game - Tiger are a very weak team.Roo’s marking and kicking has been good.

Campbell was grabbing at his hammy after that last contest. Hopefully not injured again.

Jacko nice goal!

AJ could have kicked 7 snags today if he’d kicked straight.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • PREGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
