Anyone who’s heading over to Gosch’s this morning should keep in mind that this ISN’T an open training session. It may be cancelled or relocated without notice (this even applies to open sessions) so please don’t be mad at me if this happens. By all means be mad, just not at me. 😃

I understand a portable "Great Wall of China" has been erected around the perimeter to keep snoops out! Seriously how can you police not an open session at Gosch's ???

Yeah nah, not looking promising. The truck’s not here, the marquee’s not up. Maybe they’re starting later, who knows 🤷‍♀️

If there’s no session here, me and my Gosch’s crew might head over to the other oval and see if Collingwood are training. If so, anyone got any message they’d like passed on to any Collingwood player? And by passed on I mean rudely screamed at.

I don’t think a verbal message is needed, just drop off a truck load of pickle juice. They will get it.

i can think of at least one player who deserves to have their tyres slashed. not that i would condone such an action of course

Ghosty   given your "closeness" to players and trainers and stuff,  Can't you get on the players general email training notification sms list.

Like is not as if you are going to broadcast it to all the other clubs training spies,  then you get the info direct when the players get it.  Enjoy your day this afternoon.

Good chance they are in at the meeting,  studying the GWS game in detail, getting the roles established.

We will have a strategic advantage over their early physical preparation.

They will hit the paddock post lunch.

I apologize for speaking before Ghostwriter has had a chance to respond, but I don’t think she should be asked to do stuff that would compromise the trust the entire football department has for her. We benefit from her great relationship with players already. Let’s leave it at that.

I have the phone numbers of the property manager and one of his volunteers, which is way more useful than the players and even the coaches. They know stuff-all about when/where sessions are right up until the night before. I’ve actually had players ask me where their next session is. True story. 😂

As for today, this was a last minute change. The property guys let me know at 9:15am which was when the session was to begin. That’s nice of them but would’ve been great to have known before I got there 😭

Didn't some irate Richmond supporter years ago get a truckload of manure dropped outside Richmond headquarters? It wouldn't be original but it'd be a heartfelt message I'm sending the Filth.

Back here at Gosch’s. They’re already out on the park. They’re playing soccer, red vs blue. They’re serious but having a blast

Kolt and Luker kick-to-kick under the watchful eye of Chocco, except not watchful for the past 15 minutes while he was chatting to me. 😅

Marty is practicing tackling with Keith the physio.

LOL Claz just kicked a goal and the celebration was wild, just like in real soccer games. I’m not 100% sure but he dropped to his knees and I think he kissed the turf.

Ghostwriter your dedication to our boys is extraordinary. Many thanks for all your reports, your sense of humour, and inside information is amazing.

Practising goal kicking and what a shame no Koz for the first few rounds.

Jeffo slotting them. As is Roo. And Claz.

wow. Shortest session ever. They’re slowly going back to the rooms already

What’s Kozzy’s body language like ? Noticed he unfollowed the club on instagram again, wondering if he seems a bit checked out or not, particularly with two of his closest mates AMW and Shane out for the year as well

I knew he had unfollowed the Dees a while ago. Did he re-follow them again only to unfollow them a second time?

Interestingly he follows these two clubs.

Yep

Jeepers.. not a great look is it.

Praying the Dogga rumours are true so we don’t get absolutely fleeced when he requests a trade this off season 🙏

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
