He wasn’t mentioned by any of the Trackwatchers in their observations of training or as being absent.

Didn't the track watchers state that TMAC left the training field early with those that were to play at Casey? If that's the case, then it sounds like Petty might be ill or injured, with TMAC taking his place in the squad.

Edit: Sorry, didn't see BC_1718_DC's comment above.

Petty did the captains run yesterday so not sure what's going on there.

TMac definitely played at Casey today, he played a mixture of back and forward.

It must have been a very late decision to take Petty out and let TMac continue to play today.

It doesn't make sense for TMac to now fly 4+ hours and play again tomorrow then fly straight out again after the game.   After all it is only a practice game and there are more than enough players on the bench.  Let Tommy recover properly.

Idle thought - could the names listed be an error in communication ... 🤔

Of the other emergencies for tomorrow (Laurie, Jefferson, Campbell, Brown) which played today?

Again, it doesn't make sense to fly any of them to Perth for a prac match especially if they played a full game today.

Johnson playing ahead of him says everything about the situation.

Not necessarily they are not like for like, AJ is Ruck/Fwd, to provide a chop out for Max. 😁👍

Also to provide a chop out to JVR providing a chop out to Max.

Fritta is in Mandurah totally unaware that right now I’m going hammer and tongs with an extremely obnoxious, arrogant, loudmouth Collingwood supporter… his grandpa. This old man’s goin’ down and it won’t be pretty. If I’m not tomorrow’s news headline it’ll be a miracle. 😂 I mean, his grandson kicked six goals in a granny and he’s hanging 💩 on the Dees like there’s no tomoz.

They’re all scumbags and I don’t care who’s grandfather they are.

Petty must have become aware of his hamstrings.

Or parachuted into Adelaide for a round of golf.

I reminded people that TMac was our 10th best player last year and told youse all his strength and experience would be needed v the big Haze forwards.

I'm not surprised that AJ has been named. Hopefully JvR will spend 100% tog forward.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
