Collingwood haven't played down there since 1999.

Carlton went three years in a row between 2018 & 2020, but not since. Prior to that they hadn't been there since 1997.

Essendon, prior to recent trips in 2021 & 2023, hadn't been there since 1993.

Richmond, prior to their game last season, had only been once since 2012.

Has anyone tried to get tickets using a MCC membership for the Kangaroos game at Marvel?

I can only seem to get L2 tickets behind the goals (at a cost of $60)

In previous years I was able to get tickets on the wing with a MCC membership. Not sure if they've changed the entitlements.

Was that the reciprocal MCC rights thing where it allowed you to buy Centre wing seats for about $60? I do remember that, but have no idea if it's still a thing.

It would have to be considering the AFL now owns Docklands and Medallion club are gifted thousands of the best seats in the AFL members (level 1 undercover, 2 and 2A on the wing)

Yeah you're right Gonzo, on around page 45 of the MCC guide for this year it says you can do it.

However, @peasant is right. I just tried the ticketmaster site with my MCC barcode and it says 'no entitlements available for this member code'.

No idea what this is about, season hasn't even started yet and we have to do the work 😑

Layzie you are under the mistaken belief that the AFL care about people going to games. They cater for corporates etc but the average fan not very much.

Hi all,

My 2 Redlegs seats in P7 will be available for King's Birthday as I'll be in the Zoo that is the AFL reserve.

Please let me know if you would like to avoid the chaos of Collingwood supporters - tickets are free of charge.

For any GA members that haven't reserved a seat yet for King's Birthday or don't want to sit amongst Collingwood supporters or are worried about the GA area being full, put ur ga barcode into ticketek.

The Melbourne allocation now includes the unsold reserved seats in the Tridents and Redlegs areas in the Southern stand on level 2 and 2a available for sale.

Hopefully these can be bought by Melbourne members before they go on sale to the general public in the week of the game.

Please tell me they aren't selling general public tickets on level 1 of the reserved seating area (M50-M53)?

I refuse to sit with Collingwood supporters, which is why I only go to home games against the Pies (finals not included).

Collingwood supporters are like vermin and are everywhere. How do you manage with other non-football game activities where they would also be present?

I don't hang out at correctional facilities, Centrelink or rehab clinics, thereby avoiding Collingwood supporters in my day to day life.

No, the unused seats in m53 were available under the Melbourne supporter allocation and are all sold out. But you could only access them with Melbourne membership barcodes.

The reason Collingwood people get into our reserved areas is because our members give them their tridents/redlges/demon seats plus cards to get into the ground.

And because the MCG staff don't bother checking tickets, which they absolutely should be doing during sell out games.

We get loads of them try to sneak in, only for us to get them kicked out.

Every year the same story.

If you are a Melbourne member giving away your tickets to Collingwood supporters, please don’t.

We pay a lot of money for our reserved seats and we shouldn’t have to share them with opposition fans. Most especially Pie fans. If you take a friend with you, that’s fine. But don’t just hand your tickets over to the opposition.

I think you should lose your membership. Unfortunately, so many people have dropped off that there is no more waitlist for GF guarantee seats.

You're not wrong. We have the second worst membership (currently 52,000) of all VIC clubs ahead of only North.

The decrease of around 20,000 over two years is ridiculous.

we have our fair share of fair-weather supporters by the looks of it.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
