yeah dunn hasnt been that good, then again he has been on the wing for 5 minutes on the bench for 45 on the ground for 5 and back to the pine

just like CJ before him, green to back pocket was a master stroke and ward to the HFF was also a winner

RE: this week I'd prefer to have played Wheatley for Ward and perhaps brought in another young kid but overall I didn't think the selections were too bad. It was nice to see Frawley retain his spot and while Brown isn't in my 22 he played okay last week and thus shouldn't be dropped atm considering the potential ins aren't walk-up starts (CJ, Buckley etc).

He's never been that strong in the contest and probably hasn't got enough of the ball. That said I believe he won the 2005 'Most Improved Player' award before injuries curtailed his past couple of seasons. I said it in another thread, but I'd like to see him in a more attacking position.

he has the foot skills to be a very damaging player, but is probably someone who needs to be given the ball more often than not. on the recieving end of a handpass if he is running towards 50 he is a good chance to put it on the spot or kick a goal from long...

don't forget fall over deanox! never seen a player with an odder trademark. but yeah, massive gun on his boot which could come in handy with beamer out of the team. not a bad move bringing him is, seeing as though we have the guys in the team to win the ball, have (hopefully) figured out the gameplan that suits us, and have the forwardline that will reap the rewards from long kicking. wheatley can hardly be criticized for being soft, after all our 'best player' is soft as mayonaise

there was a time he was given kick in duty.. his massive and then ( maybe now ) fairly accurate kick gave us great forward motion.. I for one would like to trial this again. .. lets be honest couldnt be worse than now !!

swallow isnt the longest kick around...maybe if wheatly had of been kicking out it might have gone that little bit further...

I don't like Wheatley. Let me make that clear. But come year's end, we can only delist so many players. Wheatley is a candidate to be sure, but he's up the safer end. If he's going to be retained, he should get games. Also, Neale must be quietly pooping his breeches at the thought of playing so many kids so much of the time. He's as desperate as anyone for that first win. Probably more desperate than anyone. The overall philosophy that experience wins games is true, and he may have picked him based on that. Also, Chip could struggle again. He MUCT be played of course, but Neale needs his backups, and there's holes everywhere in our defensive fifty.

deanox, mate... don't you get sick of hearing that though? He has footskills and range, and a bit of height, and he's not slow...

He can take the kick ins (though Belly seems alright in this regard), but beyond that Wheatley has never in his life been damaging as an AFL footballer. He's had a LONG time, but if we drill Godfrey, Brown, Biz, Ferguson and others for being terrible, this guy MUST be worse. Brownie doesn't have the skill, but he has more ticker. Biz was a great player in his day. Godfrey wants it as much as anyone. I'm not saying smash Wheatley for being a dud, but if you're going to have a go at our usual misfits, Wheatley is ABSOLUTELY one of them... he has no excuse... he can actually play.

Let's not kid ourselves about Wheatley, he's on the fringe of the team, after a couple of losses he'll always be at risk of losing his spot. The negatives about his game are that he isn't big enough to hold a key position and he doesn't get enough of the ball. Sure he's a long kick but he's slow with his decision making, especially when under pressure which means thathe turns it over more often than not.

He'll keep his spot on the list at the end of the year because there are others worse than him but he'll always be on the fringe because there are others who can do the same job but better.

I would rather have Wheatley to Ward and Brown, hopefully in the near future these two wil be dropped.

ND is trying new things whats the point in playing the same players every week when we are losing? At least playing a different range can demonstrate everyone has been given a chance to prove themselves so when it comes to trading/delisting players ND can make an educated decision. Use your brain geez especially before u open ur mouth

hey i never said i wanted Miller to get injured - i wanted him dropped, but it seems that that was the only way he was not going to play. we really need changes, and miller is never going to be a long term prospect in that position. if he stays there we will never succeed. don't give me this crap he gives 110% - the issue is his ability, and i don't believe he is a good footballer. now he has a good tank on him, but his insability to read the play and jusrt his overall struggle with the ability to play is his real weakness. there are so few players who once they get the ball, know very little when it comes to using it - Miller is one. don't keep just blaming delivery - we have always fallen down at chf with miller - we are all still hoping he takes the step, but he really doesn't look like he will. why do we have to accept mediocrity and hope. we all want more, so demand more. that is all. wheaters i just feel cannot see a definite spot for him that's all - not delist him, trade him. he still has a lot to offer, maybe a change of scenery will do him a lot of good.

Wanting him dropped is fine, popular even, but that is not what you said in your original post.

You need to re-read what u said. You have been forced to eat ur words re: Wheatley. U said at least one injury went our way - Miller is out. Who says that I mean really??

i never meant to say i was happy i was injured - i was just happy he wasn't playin. i know people may think i am backing down, but i am not. i am still glad he isn't playing, it is just unfortunate that for him to be dropped he has to get injured. his form was not even remotely good, and he will never lead this club anywhere. i hope so much i am wrong, but i fear i will be proven right. with wheaters, i just feel he has been so in and out of the side, he cannot seem to find a spot in this side - how much of this is his fault, i am not sure. he plays much better on the wing, as was witnessed on the weekend. people seem to forget the club even considered trading him last year. Also Dunn should be playing, as he has a lot more to offer than Miller - his versatility and football smarts are much better. This weekend shows how much W\heaters has to offer, but he also has his downside, and i am not talking about how often he gets injured - his form at times and decision-making has been very poor at times, together with his accountability. When he plays on the wing, we also get the most out of his long-kicking. Green also - he should be given greater scope to play forward - why nullify his goal-scoring strength.

In fairness to Go Chooker - i don't think he actually meant he is glad Miller got injured (despite saying this)

He meant to say that its probably ended up more beneficial for the team, that Miller had to miss a week (with a relatively minor injury), as it appeared that the selection committee (ie. Neale Daniher) was reluctant to drop him.

I actually agree with what he is saying - its interesting to see how our structure looked without him (although why Dunn was dropped, i'll never understand)
