Yeah there’s something not right here. 

IMO clearly communication between Trac, club and players has broken down. That doesn’t just happen out of nowhere though and so there must I think have been a deterioration of his relationship with the club and his teammates prior. 

It also explains his social media silence. He doesn’t know what to say, and/or knows he can’t currently say anything, because he doesn’t know what his formal position is. Right now he’s thinking about the possibility that if he picks the right destination, the club will agree to trade him. If he thinks he can make it work, he will come out and say he wants a fresh start. If he doesn’t think he can make it work, he will eventually say something like that he’s had a tough year, emotions got the better of him, needed to take time away from the game and club to focus and reset but will come back to pre-season focused and committed etc.

It's pretty clear Tom Morris has a direct line to Tracs management and is getting one side of the story. 

it seems much more likely the only frustrations Trac and his team care about are those relating to him going to Noosa, but i guarantee the players would be filthy that the club has been thrown into the fire by the media getting hold of this information. 

I can't see any way a trade even gets close to done, one because why would we? and two because of the very few teams he might actually want to go to, none of them could afford him, and or get close to satisfying us in a trade. 

I think it would be in everyones best interersts from Trac, his management, the club, and the players to get used to the idea of Trac being at Melbourne long term, get your arms around him and welcome him back and work together to get the MFC back to grand final day in 2025.

And judging by how quickly and easily some folks on here are to believe anything he says, the above will work a treat for him.

Jaded, communication can be poor, the club may have stuffed up his treatment post injury, but you kiss and make up. if there is a will there is a way. I don’t think that one incident has taken him from happy and settled to I want to leave to another club. Perhaps as others have said it’s been brewing for quite some time.

Trac has completely surprised me with his take on this - I just didn’t see it coming and tbh I think this is going to reflect poorly on him in the long run whether he stays or goes.

There is no way he goes to a Victorian Powerhouse. It just won’t happen. Neither the Pies, Blues or Bombers have what it takes. Hawks and Cats are neither here and are 2nd rung clubs in VIC with us anyway.

To be fair I think we should acknowledge the trauma he went thru. Thinking you’re going to die, having surgery without anesthesia, being in isolation, having complications and then also needing to have your appendix removed, is incredibly traumatic. And like Gus and Clarry, Trac has a lot of his identify tied up in football, so to have it taken away for such a long period of time would be very difficult.  

I hate the way he/his team have gone about this, but I also think that being alone with your thoughts is a dangerous thing sometimes. Feeling scared, weak, and vulnerable would heighten emotions, especially for someone already so emotional. And just as he might blow up quickly, he might also calm down quickly. I’m of middle eastern descent, I know a thing or two about being a hot head. Italians are the same.

I think in time he will regret his handling of this situation, just as I’m sure the club has regrets of their own. There are definitely two sides to this and both would have valid arguments. 

In the end there are no winners if Trac insists on leaving. We all want to see our club succeeds and there’s no doubt Trac playing good footy for the MFC makes that more of a possibility.

This is all very bizarre. There must be more to it. And tbh it's leaning towards not looking good for Petracca. Maybe it's just me but it seems like his management is using this whole thing to help drive and justify a trade request. 

If I were Petracca's publicist right now I'd be strongly encouraging him to come out and either make a commitment to the club or make a trade request. 

Allowing Tom Morris to control the narrative here is doing huge damage to his brand.

True. I guess what’s upsetting many people is his silence on the whole thing. I know that’s his right but he must also understand that his silence isn’t helping the cause.

Trac hasn’t been the same since the KB incident - with good reason.. his frustration and emotions clear on AFL360 when he broke down. Is he annoyed with the Melbourne medicos for not getting him off the ground sooner? Are his parents and partner dirty on the club for what happened? Wonder whether we would be having this conversation if Trac wasn’t injured and the club continued their average performances? 
 

Trac timed his “coffee” date with Lachie Neale perfectly too. The silence from Trac has been deafening and only he can put this all to rest now. Pert, Roffey and Goodwin can’t be trusted.

It’s really incredible. As I mentioned months ago, players weren’t happy with some of the going ons at the club. Senior players. 

It’s not like Bailey Laurie and Jefferson were on hunger strike until selected or anything like that. We had multiple senior players who drove us to a Premiership wanting change. 

How we have not reassured them that they were heard and kept them in a good headspace is mind numbingly stupid.

Also, the leaks could be from the management group, but Connor’s and his bunch of handbags don’t usually do this. It’s weird. 

Last point, StKilda didn’t like Petracca’s attitude and maturity prior to his draft year. Maybe they were right 10 years later?!?

Tom Morris seems only too delighted to report on this stuff too. I know he's a journalist, but it does seems like he has a special vendetta against the club. I think it's pretty significant that he's the one they are leaking to, considering his history with the club.

I’m in the same boat as you. I dislike the way he’s disengaged and letting Morris that weasel drive the story. It’s definitely not worthy of a leader of a club. You don’t spit the dummy in public like that. It’s very unnecessary and unprofessional and has rightly upset a lot of people. 

I note that today he liked Gawn’s shared post with the club about his contract extension, which is nice to see. Perhaps he needs to cool down before he says anything because he knows he can’t hide his emotions. He’s a good public speaker, but he doesn’t know how to fake it IMO. He wears his heart on his sleeve. 
He might also be holding out hope of a trade, so can’t say anything for fear it’ll come back to bite him. 

Either way, this unnecessary circus is not good for anyone, but after this weekend I think it’s looking worse for Trac’s brand than ours.

I want to know that too. Connor and co manage a hell of a lot of Melbourne players. I don’t know why they themselves would [censored] the club off by deliberately airing dirty laundry, when we’ve by and large always had a good relationship with them. 
We are known to be fair in our trade dealings. Maybe they think we will bend over if Trac carries on with this dummy spit? Remember his brother works there, so I’m not too sure how professional this whole thing truly is.
