Just wait till he gets older, then we'll have a real talent on our hands.

Good news, smart to hang on to the talls we have particulary with a few the wrong side of 30.

Only 24 years old, Harry's played 77 games for the Dees, I'd suggest we've been more pleased than displeased with his performances in those 77 games.

Definitely battled this year as a forward/ruck off limited preseason and with some injury struggles but I'd suggest his last 4 games has been his best block of form and was possibly our best player vs Fremantle.

Will/would return to the backline if/when feasible. Would need someone else to pick up CHF (maybe Jeffo in time) and probably for TMac to make way. The time will come...

We shouldn't disregard the selflessness in the role Harry has played this year. Team player!

Life long Dees fan. He will be a Dee. I have no doubt.

Yeah, I'm finding this woe is me MFCSS vis a vis Kalani really tedious.

He's been around the club for years, is clearly a passionate Melbourne supporter, his father has played over 200+ games for us.

Only a Melbourne supporter would worry he wouldn't commit to us.

Very much this. I know the majority want him returned to defence but I'm keeping the faith. I reckon he could be a 35+ goal KPF given a decent run with fitness & injury. Folks remember his big game against Richmond but there was more to his season than that. His improvement week on week when he started playing forward last year was impressive. Running & leading patterns, getting to contests, presenting as a target etc. Unfortunately each time he really got going he was struck down with injury.
I'll go to my grave believing we were a fit Harry Petty and / or Jake Melksham away from winning the whole bloody lot in 2023.

I hope we use the rest of this season as a platform for 2025.

The one thing we've managed (except for 1 week when Petty was out) is to get continuity between JVR, Petty and Turner. Another 5 games together at least this year.

'Yes, Tom Morris was telling the truth; Harrison Petty has signed on for two more years!'

I have been hanging off until it was officially confirmed. Congratulations Harrison Petty and MFC, I am looking forward to seeing Harry continuing to improve fwd/ back role for the Dees. One thing for sure running around in the ruck will certainly improve his and JvR’s fitness levels and if they don’t break down they will become stronger. !!

One of the best gigs I’ve ever been to in 1997 at the Hifi Bar. Was recorded for the No Sleep Till Bedtime official release. Devin’s a genius.

I also saw them at the HiFi bar but must have been circa 2002-04ish I reckon. Awesome gig but my ears were ringing for days afterwards

    MORE FIERCE by Meggs

We’re back!  Winning the last three matches has recaptured our Demon spirit and, with superstar players returning from rehab, our Season 2024 dreams are not over yet.   So come along 5.05 pm Saturday afternoon to watch this Round 9 ladder-defining match at the Field of Dreams. Expect the Tigers to be fierce, but surely the Demons will be more fierce. Playing conditions are expected to be a dry 15 degrees with a typically gusty Cranbourne wind. The media opprobrium of the ill-consi

    IN FRONT by Meggs

In this must-win clash between Melbourne 11th on the ladder and St Kilda 8th, it was the Demons who were in front all day to win in a hard-fought Round 8 clash to make it three in a row to keep theit slim finals chances alive. A good crowd of enthusiastic footy families for week 2 of Pride Round had gathered.  The full pews in the well-appointed RSEA Park grandstand provided excellent viewing.   The Saints won the toss and elected to kick to the southern end favoured by a strong 2-3 g

    THE TRADING CHRONICLES 02

Part 2: Watching grass grow by Whispering Jack Critics of test cricket (and I’m not one of them) will often claim the sport is excruciatingly boring: that following a five day match is much like watching grass grow. However, the longest form of that game has nothing on the first week of the AFL trade period when it comes to inducing sleep among those in the football public who follows this process in its somnolent moments. The week gone by has been no exception. Only two player trades

    THE CAVALRY ARRIVES by Meggs

The injury plague which has beset the Demons 2024 campaign is finally starting to dissipate and with consecutive wins over GWS Giants and a 2-point nail-biter in Adelade, a sense of optimism is rising.  Some commentators are now asking whether the Dees can make finals? A huge surprise with team selection this week when it was announced that champs Olivia Purcell, Paxy Paxman and Eden Zanker would play.   Hallelujah!  The cavalry has arrived. GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised
