HT Brisbane Lions 10.5.65 Casey Demons 6.5.41

Goals McAdam 2 Billings Farris-White Jefferson Schache

Disposals Freeman Hunter 11 Hore Laurie 10 Steele 9

Clearances dominated by the Lions.

Casey lucky to ‘contain’ junior bears to a 34 point turn around.

Umpiring and Schache are both unwatchable. If he is on our list beyond this year I will burn the place down.

Young Howes impressive vision Casey goal!

Kasey bloke absolutely clobbered (no eye on the ball in the marking ‘contest’) in the F50. Play on and Dill’s reckons umpiring standards remain the same. Says it all.

The standard of the broadcast is evidence that the AFL don't give a stuff about this second tier comp. I had to mute the commentary!

Hey Schache was the 23rd best player on the list if we go by selection in the last and most important game we played last season, remember 😀!

All of Laurie, Brown, Sestan and new bloke have been disappointing. Old hands Hunter, Billings, White, Hore... showing the way

Embarrassing effort from most mfc listed players. It's a game of opinions I guess but McAdam is about the only player with his hand half up for inclusion in the seniors.

He wouldn’t have got it if he was still playing for us. Grrrr.!!

I've been sitting here for the whole game but I have missed half of it because the person who has been dragged in from the local primary school to point the handicam has been trailing the action by 5 seconds throughout

Gummy Bears kicking into the breeze like it’s a five goal advantage. Casey’s efforts are shambolic.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
