At least we know which club Casey are aligned to, 6-14 at 3/4 time.

3QT Casey Demons 6.14.50 lead Northern Bullants 6.3.39.

From the time McAdam scored Casey’s sixth goal at about 4 minutes into the quarter, both sides had trouble scoring goals. The Bullants are lucky to still be in the game thanks to some errant kicks for goal by the visitors.

Goals McAdam 2 Jefferson Billings Neocleous Schache

Disposals Fullarton 19 Howes 18 Laurie 17 K. Brown 16 Hunter 14

Is Jeffo injured??

14 behinds. Bath water or breathalyzer?

Didn't see him the last 10 minutes.

Think he is ok.

Nice work from Doggy

Kynan Brown lovely feint and pass. Sestan goal!

Kynan Brown not getting a lot of it, but comp0sed when he does. Great feint, short kick to Sestan for a Casey goal.

🐜’s  caller give the the man a lozenge.

Sesto much more comfortable nearer the goals

Kynan Brown has some tricks!

Ned Moodie cult hero!

JEFFO contested pack mark. Goal!

if sestan can get his fitness base where it needs to be he can 100% make it in the afl - great by foot

Agree, inconsistent at the moment but has fantastic size and skills.

Super hands Jeffo & the conversion.

Should be straight in for Fritta or Petty against the Eagles this week

Tom Freeman goes alright.

If Petty is out that mark and goal alone should ensure Jefferson's selection this week. Genuine forward. Has done well in wet conditions. Very accurate kick at goal. Named as emergency last night so must be close.

So good to hear Jefferson continues to come along. Another full pre season under his belt and I reckon we will see a bit of him in the seniors next year.
Not totally against giving him a taste at the end of the year to really motivate him, if his form continues.

It’s late in the game and Casey have it wrapped up. Bailey Laurie and Kynan Brown - solid efforts in the conditions from the team’s smaller men.

I reckon we could do worse than giving Ned ‘Moodle’ Moodie a train on opportunity over summer.

He probably isn’t skilled enough but I like him as a competitor and athlete. We don’t have a lock down medium defender on the list and I reckon he’d come on quickly with a proper training block.

Magnificent Mark in wet conditions and goal.OK Goody, u can play him now!

Shane McAdam doing OK for an off day. 3 goals

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

  • PREGAME: Brisbane

The Demons head back out on the road in Round 10 when they travel to Queensland to take on the reigning Premiers and the top of the table Lions who look very formidable. Can the Dees cause a massive upset? Who comes in and who goes out?

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.
