Has Lost all form looks a shadow of 2021/22.

Only need one word for Clarry - "Selfish".

Prefer to give away free kicks than work through the tag. Made it all about himself and not the team.

Lucky to play.

Very very lucky

I don't think he's a natural mid 'deever'...reckon he would be better with the ball coming at him plus we haven't replaced a bull like Hibberd coming out of the backline who can match up on those strong mid sized forwards.

Got to try Sparrow somewhere to his and the teams benefit.

I agree with this, but whilst Tracc is not available Sparrow will stay in the middle. He is a big lump who does lay some tackles. Ultimately i would like to see him at Half Forward, because he can kick goals, but it just can’t happen at the moment. Viney needs help in the middle

He's such a tough one, has some really great attributes (which have faded admittedly); a great set of hands in the air, can roost the ball and is pretty physical. But he can't seem to find his rhythm. I had really high hopes for him as a midfielder but these days I'm agreeing with you. Half back might work well.

I the immortal words of Jack Dyer "He keeps on getting where the ball aint".

Sparrow's best game for some time IMO, but agree not to level he ahs been previously (has plenty of mates you could say that about).

Windsor looks tired to me. Needs a week off

I watched Sparrow's development closely over the past 2 years, as my interest in his footballing talents grew from some great tackles and great kicking for goal (unexpected boomers), allied to an increasing frame and bulk for tackles that dispossessed, stuck and were remembered by the recipients; and,  some intimidation for interceptors when on the run. I do see him as a forward, myself and for this season, expected far greater of him than what has so far been demonstrated; for this, I suspect that he is out of his best position and role, still with great promise, I believe, on the HFFlank and central areas around the 50m mark. He does provide good protection for those coming through with the ball and this, too, needs to be more frequently utilised within the forward line from hell.

Just opinions, prognostications....

vanRooyen - have another look.

Take away his goal and we lost. Gives his all as a second ruck, least of our problems.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.

  • GAMEDAY: Gold Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons are back at the MCG and have a massive challenge ahead of them as they take on Premiership contender the Gold Coast Suns. What do you want to see from the Dees today?

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

Melbourne’s slow starts have been a troubling theme for a while. Against the Suns, they started slowly in both of their games, they trailed by 5.7.37 to 0.1.1 at quarter time at Peoples First Stadium in Round 16. This season, the story has remained the same and if the Demons fail to shake off this issue against the unbeaten Gold Coast Suns, they will be in serious danger of capitulating once again in their Easter Sunday showdown.
