VFL v WAFL State Game Saturday 1.10pm

It's state v state footy this weekend

Six Sandringham players are in the Big V Side...

Summers, Sautner, Biddlecombe, Valenti, Poyas, Crowe

The State Game kicks off at 1.10pm, but there is a game on before hand from 10.30am between the VFL U/23's North v South (I don't happen to have on me the list of who is playing in that game)

Now here is the guide on...

How to get there

Teac Oval is located on Williamstown Road in Port Melbounre.

I would suggest you don't drive as parking can be a bugger near that ground.

Public Transport is your best bet.

Just take any train to Southern Cross (Spencer Street) Station and walk to Collins Street.

You want to hop on the 109 Tram going to Port Melbourne.

Get off at the Northport Ligh Rail stop and walk back to the crossing that you have just passed - that is Raglan Street.

Turn Left (heading in the direction of the Bolte Bridge) and walk a few blocks to Williamstown Road - you should then be at the ground.

Remember it's only a gold coin donation to get into the game

Footy records sell at the ground for $3.

How/When to watch

The game will be shown in the following states on ABC TV...

Victoria - Live from 1PM

Tasmania - On delay from 3PM

WA - On delay from 2PM (Local Time)

How/Where to Listen

Radio 1611 AM 3XX - All Over Melbourne from 12 Noon

ALSO streaming live on the net at www.radio1611.com.au (Click "Listen Live")

97.7 FM Casey Radio - South East Melbourne from 9am

990 AM Information Radio - Perth, Western Australia from 10.30am (Local Time)

I hope that keeps you informed, and I hope to see ya all at the game

GO BIG V

The forward line is pretty much all Sandy players, Sautner, Valenti, Poyas and Crowe are 4 of the 6.

Should be good to watch, and for a gold coin, you just can't get value like that.

and lets not forget big Nick Smith at CHB well done on selection Nick.

Also Woewodin will probably rack up 35 touches in the middle.

And is that ex-rookie listed demon David Robbins playing as well.

A lot to watch for Dee and Zebra fans!

Go Vics!

Is that Neville, as in Heath Neville, the player currently on our list who plays in Sandy reserves?

No it's not.

The Neville in question is Alistair Neville: Trinity Grammar, Vic Metro Teal Cup Vice-Captain, good Box Hill and Coburg player (won a B & F at Coburg I think), but for some reason he has never been picked up by an AFL club. We could do worse than have a look at him I'd have thought; he seems to be one of those good players who slips through the recruiting net like Davey, Lovett, Rigoni, McDonald etc.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    GAMEDAY: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
