I didn't watch the game last night. What's the verdict?

8/10 but a lot more games this round, so let's wait and see

they had the most senior umpires in place, and for the most part they were a little bit hotter on holding the ball, but it wasn't a huge difference

Let's see what umpire 22 brings to the table.

Incompetence. He brings incompetence.

I personally thought it was called very well and opened the game up. Less ball ups and players cramming around the ball. Worked well and ironically probably did the thing the AFL wanted by not calling it: created a more free flowing game and created space

What a fail that was.  So many caught read hot and in clear view with 4 umpires yet not paid or overruled, including the one below and Tracc's yesterday that would have resulted in a hot at goal.

A few improvements like blowing the whistle earlier when players were wrapped up (at times)

Pay a few HTBs here and there and ignore the rest!  The AFL and its umpiring continue on continuing on with their trashing of the game ...

You'd think when a directive is given that it at least brings a sugar hit of consistency for a brief moment, Thurs and Fri showed this but the rest of the weekend was all over the place.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?
