Judging by the way the trees are moving there's a fair cross ground wind

its always windy at Willy even on calm days, [censored] ground for weather.

Did not notice Shane McAdam on the field that quarter.

He played in Q1 but didn’t notice him get a possession

Best Casey player in the second was Roy George , Tholstrup a couple of nice things the rest pretty ordinary tbh

Jefferson looks way out of his depth and frankly has regressed from his moderate returns of last season

If there's a fair cross wind at Casey should go to willy on a windy day now that's what you call windy.

Have you been to Willy? it can beat anything Casey offers.

Thought the second quarter in to the breeze was a decent effort.

Sestan, Tholstrup, AMW, Brown all had moments moving the ball well. Missed a few chances to get scores. Fullarton got involved with a few marks.

Defensively open but Willy had the wind and after a hot start Casey got the momentum back.

McAdam? Injured again?

Sorry to say I don't see him as even a VFL talent. I think we have another Lucas Cook.

I have seen football's come back to the kicker.

Sounds like one of my kicks.

Can’t help youthful enthusiasm OD! Willy’s a great ground for night footy though.

Roy is the real deal!

And for the Jeffo haters - he delivered both to George - one by hand, one by foot. And both through contests.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
