My 3 word player analysis V Brisbane

He did get 9 coaches votes in a game before his injury so he hasn't been what you call average the WHOLE year. Some very over critical posters on this forum I reckon.

Sure, but as I said he's been very average by his standards the whole year. I'm judging him by the entirety of the whole year, as opposed to cherry picking form from one match.

I've seen a lot of AMW and Woewodin, I rank AMW higher.

If Woewodin is getting an edge because of his illustrious name, it isn't only dispiriting to the players not chosen but is poor club culture, which is infectious.

But others better placed to judge than this correspondent

You can't fault Chandler's effort. If his selection is marginal I might give him a tick. A player giving all compels his team mates to greater effort.

We all know that Oliver, fit and firing, is a champion.

It is simply a fact that he had a terrible game tonight in a midfield that was completely smashed by the opposition.

Petracca, another champion, also had an off night.

Obviously we all want to see Clarry back at his dominating best. But so far this season he has been a shadow of the player we know he can be, and if he does not regain form he would not be worth the money he is on. Again, that's simply a fact in the brutal world of football.

I would be delighted if he produces man-of-the-match performances for the rest of the season.

FFS HE IS INJURED😤

Looking past the disposal count in games, he's been very average by his standards the whole year (I'm not suggesting he's past it though, by any stretch). But to say he was 'killing it' this year, even prior to injury, is viewing his season with a high amount of recency bias with regards to his previous seasons.

Wasn't he bog v the dogs?

He was good against Hawks

But since his hand in the last two has struggled.

Maybe killing it was too strong.

they remind me of young Stretch and JKH........... good at VFL level but not possessing the spark necessary to crack AFL

Hope I'm wrong

I wouldn't be too stressed. I reckon we've been loading and will be cherry ripe for Anzac Eve after the bye.

Pretty tough on AMW who hasn't even had a look at AFL.  I will reserve judgement.

This in a nutshell 👆👆

Didn’t worry  us last year with Clarry out.

Why didn’t the Coaches change the mids positioning and also personnel ie Rivers  say in 2nd quarter. Even say changing Harry with Tmac to get him into the game.

Hood too often makes changes to positions etc after the result is almost or a foregone conclusion. Needs to act in the 2nd quarter not 4th.

2023 was a hard year to watch re: Clayton out

I was hoping this year would be different, with our pressure on the ball carrier being through the roof

Lions smacked and cannoned into us all night

Goody won’t make changes - he sticks to structure

How can you judge over a WHOLE year after 6 rounds? Are you a seer?

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
