Quality of the contest belies the relative ladder position of both sides.

Do I not know what belies mean? This looks exactly what 16 v 19 should look like

Certainly do and am enjoying the game. A tight competitive contest with most blokes giving it a real go.

Schache - good, but could easily be better, not screaming afl

Fullarton - Schache with more speed but less skill

Jeffo - stats aren’t there but looked faster and more willing, not his worst game. No coordination going forward

KFW - probably the worst, but geez he barely plays. Such a waste of time him turning up

Willy V - slowed a bit in q2 and did a few too many ruckman things, doesn’t kick as well as he thinks.

Laurie - cracking in hard but he can’t break in to space and the missed tackles are killers

Hunter - a mile off

Tomlinson - lifted but still meh

Turner - reading it beautifully  and getting hands on it, rusty but promising

Adams - gets spun around too easily, gets caught flat footed with the ball and bangs it to no one.

AMW - willing tackler, competes well, decision making/ball use shaky

Sesto - good when he finds the ball, just doesn’t find enough

Kynan Brown - willing, able

I know he's had a shoulder issue but Ollie's run past the ball quite a bit today and / or just sits back ball watching.

Laurie showing plenty.
Fullarton has promise for the near future.
Verrall definitely in time.
Turner not bad for a first up run.
Tomlinson looks disinterested and confidence shot. Understandable on both counts.
Grave doubts about Jefferson.
Put a line through Sestan.
Are they having a laugh by playing KFW?

Moniz is a forward every day of the week.  Madness trying to make him into something he isn't imv.

Will he learn some defensive aspects...maybe.  But in the course of doing so he might also lose some of his crumbing/ offensive flair, skill and intuition.

Why does this commentator scream in to the mic at every shot at goal? Someone fix him. Please. It’s been going on for years

He is the worst... and often louder for anyone non-Casey

You don’t lose skills in a few weeks and we have no small defensive depth, but the moment we have any defenders back he needs to go forward again.

I get that but its not like he's going to be the difference down back.  He might up forward and in the mean time has no chance to score and possibly stick his hand up for a berth at senior level either.

What a waste.

Hunter can play his role from here surely

Also very little pressure when the ball hits the deck inside 50.  You just had Turner come all the way from HB after being involved in the first part of the chain there.... then having to put a 3rd effort in to try and pressure loose Port players inside 50.

Ridiculous

Getting beaten purely by the Port’s strong bodies ability to get hands out whilst being tackled. And umpires giving them a ridiculous amount of leeway to do so

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
