Had a pretty good year but definitely not the style of player we need more of

If you bring him in it is a replacement for the likes of Harmes, Dunstan, Sparrow, Jordon etc.

Not sure that's a priority plus I can't see the Hawks not re-signing him.

Not the best disposer of the ball, we need players with good finishing skills

Was just about to ask about his kicking skills.

We're in a spot now where we should only be looking to bring in elite kicks in both the draft and any trades we might do.

But, binman, we drafted Adem Maric  and James Strauss because they were elite kicks - big problem was that we didn’t see much of this elite skill because they didn’t have the ball

Draft them to us now and they would be very different players.

Same can be said for every player drafted to Melbourne from that period.

None of them had the foundation or environment to fulfil any sort of potential.

We were an absolute mess as a club.

100% agree.

The suns can get hardwick as a coach, but it will make little difference if they don't sort their fitness, development, welfare and other critical systems and programs.

Nope, not a perfect comparison due to play time but Sparrow is a better user of the ball than Worpel and if he played the same time in the midfield as he does I reckon Sparrow would have the same disposal numbers.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
