I think it does mean you cannot go.

Received an email from the club, indicating that I needed to get a seat.

I’m pretty sure the club sent an email around not too long ago saying GA memberships should buy a seat to ensure they get in as tickets were selling fast. Check with the club to make sure.

There's sell outs and then there are sell outs.

Will this be a Dreamtime 78,500 sell out or a genuine 95,000 Anzac Day type sell out?

One of my big hates. AFL and MCC members who don't turn up.

It largely depends on whether people who already have reserved seats turn up. My reserved seats sections is never anywhere near full and I don't believe there are any spare seats available for sale.

Depends on the weather, mid 80,000's at a guess

What confuses me is that if a member with a reserved seat invited a guest (who pays etc etc) to the KB game my understanding is that both the member and the guest are given seats together but in another section of the ground.

If that is the case the ‘original’ reserved seat is left vacant.  If many members take up this option this would leave plenty of prime viewing seats vacant.

I’m guessing that these are not somehow sold on.  Be good if general admission members were somehow given the opportunity to pay some sort of ‘premium’ and get a seat for the KB game. (Particularly so because from what I have read above quite a few GA members who have not reserved a seat won’t be able to attend)

This way we would get more genuine demon supporters to watch the game and the club could financially benefit.

Chances of this happening? I’m not holding my breath (but there’s plenty of time to do this is the club wanted to do this)

I asked this in the ticketing thread but I don't think anyone knows.

would certainly annoy the [censored] out of me if I cant attend as a member and there are 20K empty seats!

Exactly. Next to us are two guys from SA who have reserved seats but don’t turn up often as you expect.

When you think about it, it wouldn’t be hard to implement (I think).

The MFC would know which specific seats become vacant the moment the member goes down the path of getting guest passes (and therefore being relocated to another section)

This would then give the opportunity for the club to reallocate the seat to say GA members that want to be given an opportunity to get a prime seat for a big game such as the KB game.  (Could have a waiting list and allocate on fifo basis). Result would be happy member and more money in the coffers.

Even in the less popular games the club should consider offering seats to loyal GA members.  Again, happy member and the prime seating areas get filled with more Melbourne fans (I hate it when level 2 and 2A are only half full- no atmosphere).

If you need help I can get you MCC guest passes which are still available for level 4 or walk up on the day. Just hit me up and can work something out

Be positive, that forecast is a long way ahead.  Even forecasts a week ahead can be a bit dicey.
I reckon you can only rely going out about three days at most.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
