The kids in the house love it Dwayne!

How can "threads the needle" not be in the Dwayne bingo card?

His commentary is as pleasant as listening to someone dry retching

In the snow?

I went there with Moonshadow a few years ago  (Jack Watts was still with us) to see us flogged by GWS.

One of the coldest/windiest days I've experienced .... anywhere.

Brass Monkeys were calling for oxy torches.

Good God man, it's never that cold!... but yea the coldest day I've ever experienced was an August day trip there with my dad . He said it was colder than where he worked in Northern Finland. It's 9 d c but the wind chill makes it 9 below.

Hogan may not be a great set shot but his contested markings still pretty good. And after he crashes a pack open is good at following up, collecting the pill and finding a teamate quickly.

We could really use him now.

Sits back and calls for the ball to be delivered most of the time & most of the time from behind.

If it falls into his 'preferred' drop zone he looks great and occasionally a million $$

When it doesn't ...well.

And it often doesn't, which then sees him sooking for it a la Richo.

The diff is of course that Richo had a massive tank and worked his opponents over by running them allover the park and capitalising on the fall out.  Nick Reiwoldt the same.  If Hogan had that work ethic/attitude he'd probably be a diff kettle of fish.

A free for holding the ball without being tackled?  Did I miss a new rule?

Crikey.....nicked off to the servo for some cheezals and game over.

Sounds like GWS are getting some traction in Canberra. I just heard six people start a Giants chant when they got within 35 points of Brisbane.

They just leave Toby at ff one on one and everyone else push up.

So Neale picks the ball up and blind turns away from potential tackles, but then runs straight into a tackler.

Had prior.... 4 umps.

That's immediately HTB right there...blow the whistle.

But nup..... im gonna give Neale all the time in the world to get out of this tackle even though he's already had more than sufficient prior.

So what happens.... tackler spins him around as Neale's trying to escape tackle and Neale ends up on the turf with one arm pinged.

After all that the umpire finally makes the call..... dangerous tackle!

So whose fault is the end result?

It's the umpire for not calling HTB immediately Neale spun away from his opponents and straight into that tackle.

Ditector of Umpiring &/or AFL need to fix this blight on the game & pronto.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
