Goodnight North. Bris won't give up the lead from here. You can run on belief for so long, but what happens when little doubts start to nag away and the belief slowly evaporates?

Amazing how well Daniher and Hipwood play when no North defenders play within 15m of them.

Norf overuse handball and also look to go through the corridor almost always,  even if it's not on.

Would love to see their kick to handball  ratio.

No run, run out of congestion or anyone running past the ball carrier either.

Mostly circle work with too many hot handballs and too many of those backward handballs, inviting ever increasing pressure.

Not sure whether this is the way Clarko's training them or they're failing to execute whatever else it is that he is asking from them.

Either way they're a complete rabble with a smattering of up & coming talent.

And as for Larkey.  My gosh.... softer than my cavoodle after a full wash, conditioner and fluffing!

They really have no dangerous forwards aside from Zurhaar on a really 'on' day.  Their other medium/small forwards are non-existent and the general delivery inside 50 is not even dog's breakfast worthy.

P.S. forgot Stephenson... nb

Geez poor defending yet again from Norf.

I posted the above an hour ago.

In that time defence has gone from poor to non existent !

I guess North just aren't ready yet

Agreed.

If Freo miss the 8 by a game they’ll be kicking themselves that they somehow lost to North at home.

Have you ever seen the amount of rubbish left after a match at any ground? It’s astounding. After our Sydney match I had to return to where I’d been sitting and the amount of rubbish in the empty stands was overwhelming. It’s way more than you’d imagine. You don’t notice it when there’s people there but it really is an eye opener.

I may be just old-fashioned, but I always take all my rubbish with me to the nearest bin on the way out. Is it too much to expect crowds to behave like responsible adults? I find it frustrating that it seems socially normal just to drop litter all over the place because it might be slightly inconvenient otherwise ... (and I guess that confirms that I am indeed old-fashioned).

Some of those cows would be better kicks than a number of Norf players

30 marks inside 50 for the Lions.... a club record.

Clarko's honeymoon officially over

It appears the honeymoon is over at Arden St.  How soon before we get a crack at them?

A training run since half time

North were never going to win this. They’re much improved but let’s not kid ourselves.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
