One of the great mysteries in life is why my dad didn't sign me up for an MCC membership at birth! Been an MFC member since I was 7 (before that was the VFL Squadron kids passes - showing my age haha).

So for now it is the AFL members which is an absolute zoo when we play the Pies. Hopefully one day before I die I will get to enjoy sitting amongst fellow Demons in the MCC with my kids whose dad did the right thing and signed them onto the waitlist when they were still young.

Tickets are on sale for the Geelong game at 2pm today. Does anyone know if thereโ€™s any provision for away fans? I remember last year something about a promo code to unlock tickets for an away bay.

Thanks FTB.

Fair to say about 150-200 seats left in that area. Be interesting if/how quickly they sell out.

Highly recommend sitting in this area, as it's away from the Geelong riff-raff.

Thanks FTB. Just used this!! I went on yesterday a bit late and there were only single seats left!

I'm sure you addressed this elsewhere but only 83k on Monday despite being a sell-out. Looked liked there were empty seats all around the GA areas. Do you know why this would be?

Haven't said anything but reasons are:

  • Collingwood reserved seating in the Ponsford had about 1,000 empty seats
  • MCC level 4 was 70% full thanks to people double dipping by reserving seats but then walking up to level 1
  • 3 Bays didn't go on sale and wasn't rectified (900 seats)
  • Top of GA in the Olympic was not full

Thats about 5K all up and is the difference between 88.5K which is what I would have expected and what it actually got.

I think there was some GA available at the gate on game day. Top level Southern stand and Olympic.

They really need to re-look at what constitutes a sell-out.

For example Dream time sold out and they didn't even get 80K.

They sold GA on ticketek and in theory said all GA tickets were sold but when they said everyone needs a ticket there would have been people who then reserved a seat.

out of curiosity ftb, what happened to all the standing room areas for kb. i didn't see any options for ga members to upgrade to "standing". did all those standing room areas just go unallocated.

i'd much prefer standing to level 4.

For those purchasing tickets this week, remember it is our away game and the Demon Army will be in M33 in the Ponsford. M34-M36 95% sold out but they will but M29-M32 on sale today at some point.

Alternatively, if you hate your life, you can buy seats in the back of M3 and M4 and sit directly behind the Richmond cheersquad.

Are we expecting 70k plus on the Sunday?

Richmond actually put out a tracker for their home crowds this season before round 1 and initially had 58,000 for this game.

I suspect that will be quite accurate, the big MCG crowds rely on large GA turnouts (Hawks Carlton and Saints Essendon showed that). So it is very hard to gauge the crowd from ticket sales.

Reckon anywhere between 50K and 70K is a possibility but doubt it will get to 70K especially now that the kids go free has ended.

I was going to get some tickets for our away game against Carlton.

I am a H&A member so generally it's only $15 to upgrade to a reserve seat.

Why then is it telling me the tickets are $38 each to upgrade?! and why is it only showing me 4 bays total available, all behind the goals?

They only selling in M34 and M3-M6 at the moment. M34 will be next to the Demon Army at least.

Its all behind the goals because M50-M57 and M8-M16 are all Carlton reserved seat areas.

Always been $38 to reserve level 1 Goal for members at home and away games, $15 for level 4.

Thanks. I paid $15 last week against the Tigers for M32. Strange.

Do you know if they'll release more tickets in M36-M29? Or is M34 the only level 1 likely to be available?ย

Ye Richmond put level 1 tickets on sale last week to get more people to go which clearly didnt work.

All of M28-M36 will likely be reserved.

Ok thanks.

It's telling me now the M34 has no tickets left.

Might have to get them through the Demon Army which will make @WalkingCivilWarย happyย ๐Ÿ˜„

Plenty available in M34 and M35

I've never reserved an MCC seat before but planning to for the Carlton game. Wish me luck.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking. ย We filled our boots with percentage โ€” now a whopping 520.7% โ€” and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourneโ€™s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
