Glass half full:

6-8 means Max will hopefully play the majority of the season.

6-8 means we can try the options of Grundy, Tmac, Schache. One door closes, another opens

6-8 means we give JVR a few games

6-8 means that our centre square mids will need to harden up (tongue in cheek) due to not getting silver service

I like 4 to 6 better but everything else you say is sound.

And I like 2-4!

That's Numberwang!

According to Richo, “we expect him to be available in four to six weeks”.

Available in four means misses three this side of the world.  Back on Anzac Eve.

Glass half foolish?

To avoid any doubt. Watch today's media conference. The potential confusion is that he has yet to go the club to confirm a treatment plan.

Some positive soundbites:

No swelling, starting to feel better already, wont be 2-3 weeks as a minimum (comparison to Jack's recovery) but still feel bullish.

I like this one.  This is exactly why we discovered how good Petty was, after Tomlinsons ACL

Just glad big Maxy Gawn will be alright in a few weeks time.

He is the heart and soul of the Melbourne Football Club and I hope Jack Viney steps up to the plate as Captain.

Additionally, let's hope Jacob van Rooyen gets his chance to debut for the Demons against the Swans.

All good to hear. A shame, though, that it (and consequent footy matters) pretty quickly overshadowed the main purpose of the conference (despite Watts's brave effort to bring it back).

Anyway, this might allow normal programming to resume:

Oh not the dreaded 426. That means at least 6 but throw in 4 to keep the supporters happy in the short term.

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
