Saturday Feb. 25 at Yarra Park

Not 100% confirmed yet.

The only thing that is certain is that the DeeArmy will be putting on a BBQ. No surprise there.

Thanks for the update!

Has this been announced by the club yet, or is this inside information?

I donโ€™t think the Club has officially announced it yet. But because the DeeArmy is very much involved with these events we get plenty of notice.ย

Our men will be attending Family Day, of course. Our womenโ€™s team is on a break but the girls being the girls thereโ€™ll likely be some of them attending. Daisy has already said sheโ€™ll be there.

Also wanted to mention that as well as our usual fare (sausage in bread, soft drink, bottled water etc.) weโ€™ll have cakes. One of our members is a professional baker and her cupcakes are to die for. Weโ€™ll also be selling merch.

Never too early to induct her into the MFC hall of fame. And in front of the adoring supporters tooโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆ.never a more appropriate opportunity.

PS: the blue food dye literally leaves its mark. The entire cheer squad rocked blue tongues that day, which is never not funny. ๐Ÿ˜

As we all know, BBB will be losing his curly locks at Family Day to raise funds forย the childrenโ€™s cancer charity Challenge, a charity close to his heart, and one very worthy of support.

Donations of any amount are much appreciated and can be made using this linkโ€ฆ

But wait, thereโ€™s moreโ€ฆ

ย

For a $50 donation youโ€™ll get a Mark Knight pictureย signed by BBB!!!

DONโ€™T FORGET TO BRING AN EMPTY BELLY TO FAMILY DAY TOMORROWโ€ฆ

โ€ฆ AND COME VISIT THE DEMON ARMY TENT!

We will have competition, though. Thereโ€™ll be two food trucks: one with pizza, the other with burgers and chips. Iโ€™m sure theyโ€™ll cook up a storm and their food will be delish, but for more bang for your buck - or bangER for your buck see what I did there - you simply canโ€™t go past our BBQ and cake stall.ย Our prices are more than reasonable and ALL proceeds from the cake stall will be donated to the Challenge Cancer charity (loveya BBB).

Besides, whoโ€™s eating pizza and burgers at 10am?! Apart from ppl whoโ€™ve been out on the turps all night and/or ppl who are partial to hardened arteries, amirite?!

This is just one example of the deliciousness thatโ€™ll be availableโ€ฆ

They taste as good as they look. And I know. Iโ€™ve had more of these than I care to remember.

Thereโ€™ll be a big selection of cakes of all shapes and sizes.

And weโ€™ll be selling merch.ย

So please come and support us!!!

This morning a supermarket which shall remain nameless (COLES!) messed up and didnโ€™t have our 1000-sausage order when our awesome and very patient leader arrived to pick them up. She put the call out and in typical Demon Army fashion, our dedicated members stopped at supermarkets on their way to Yarra Park and bought up whatever sausages were on the shelves.

So if youโ€™re looking to buy snags today donโ€™t be surprised if thereโ€™s none in your local Coles/Woollies. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Final shameless plug: please come and buy a sausage in bread and/or a cake. We depend on days such as this. Those giant heads donโ€™t grow on trees, ya know. Imagine if they did, though. Thatโ€™d be amazing!

JUST GET YOURSELF TO OURS!!!

Anyone got good ideas on parking near Gooches?

Train services on the Belgrave/Lillidale line are going to be rubbish for the first part of the season due to track closure and replacement buses for the Mont Albert / Surrey Hills level crossing removal works.

Can't make it but hope there is a good turnout. Get around Grundy & tell him how much we are so excited to have him at the Dee's. At least he'll be around better supporters & not feral ones.

Also find out how levers ankle is.

Spewing can't get there. Don't think my 2-year-old son would appreciate it as much as I would and would be trying to drag me out of the place as soon as we got there.

Someone ask Lever about his ankle if you can please and thanks!ย

I didnโ€™t ask him about the ankle, but he was moving without any noticeable discomfort and was able to deal with wrangling one of his kids, and pushing the pram.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking. ย We filled our boots with percentage โ€” now a whopping 520.7% โ€” and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourneโ€™s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
