Koroit v North Warrnabool. Hampden league

Saints play the eagles

Koroit are into their 8 straight GF. Lost the first, then won the next 6.  That’s the definition of a powerhouse club.   Support in koroit is total.

eagles have Dion Johnston who played for the Casey demons a little bit. Other sides have beaten koroit this year but they are still in the granny.   So not as dominant,  should be interesting

Where are you based 640? I grew up in Mortlake, then lived in Warrnambool in the early to mid 90’s playing all my junior footy at South Warrnambool. Go the Roosters!

Not real bad for Koroit’s saints. Taken two boys there for football training and cricket

the whole town gets involved  Thursday nights at training are huge.  So much support for the kids coming through

Tower Hill is an amazing part of the world.

Koroit has always been able to field a footy team that’s much stronger than it should. The farm land around there has produced a lot of great players.

It’s the potatoes and the soil. Put a stick in the ground , water it and watch it grow

I’m a Terang man.. Koroit are a great club  in a struggling one powerful league.

Off Topic, Sean Campbell won the B@F for second year in row for Parkside and is good chance to take the comps. B@F.

Not in todays side.  I do not follow this league apart from finals and there will be a very inebriated group only 5 minutes away. I hope they stay there .

Suburban Melbourne premiers today (all games played in atrocious conditions)

Heidelberg def Bundoora NFNL

Noble Park def Rowville EFNL

Strathmore def Aberfeldie EDFL

Cranbourne def Cheltenham SFNL

Altona def Werribee Dist. WRFL

Heidelberg & Noble Park have won a lot of flags.  Not sure on the Essendon & Western leagues but Cranbourne haven't always been in the Southern league

Terang was the big smoke growing up. I remember we had to go to Terang from Mortlake to see a Vet - when my mum ran over our dog (by accident).

Is the Hampden league struggling these days? It used to be incredibly strong.

I thought Bundoora got up Macca?

Edit: was looking at the reserves scores

I was sent some photos of the VAFA Premier B, GF between Uni Blacks & Old Haileybury (2.5 to 2.9) and the ground was completely covered in water with not a blade of grass to be seen! Elsternwick Park I believe

I would think it’s strong always plenty of support at the games and in the local rag.
alwsyx seems to be some young fellow or girl trying out for some better comp.

I didn’t know Koroit was such a successful club..I have ancestors who owned Coghlan’s Southern Cross Hotel just out of town in the 19th century. And Michal Coghlan was also the Mayor for a while.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.
