I am not going to bag Miller as I reckon the bloke is trying his guts out each and every week....

The only thing that I am worried about is the fact that we persist with him in the forward line!

Now that Dunn is back on the field, I think we must play Miller at CHB! Last year his shutdown roles on blokes like Barry Hall and Matthew Pavlich were excellent.... I realise that with Neitz and Robbo injured, ND had no option but to play him as a KPP in the forward line, but now is the time to put him back where he should be....

Yes, we saw him rip Fremantle apart last year but we can't leave him in a position he is not great at just because he had one great game! The guy clearly struggles to mark the ball in a contest... Not due to lack of effort, but he seems to have really hard hands... A great reference was made today on Triple M... They likened him to Quinten Lynch at West Coast.... A big unit who needed a lot of work on how to take a decent grab... WC are persisting with Lynch and he has now developed into a big unit who can take a big contested grab! He is not the best in the league by far, but he is not the hard-handed mark he used to be!

Miller can spoil! He can punch and he can shut down a decent forward each week... Keep giving him drills at training so he improves his marking, but play him at CHB for the remainder of our injury riddled season! Dunn has great awareness when it comes to leading and reading the play (even though our F50 entries are bordering on disgusting)

Miller will be a solid contributor for years to come, but until he can take a contested grab he should not be a power forward! Let blokes like Dunn & Buckley have a go for awhile... With our injuries to our backline I think Miller alongside blokes like Bizzell, Bell, Chopper and Fergie will be of greater benefit in the long run!

You're going to make it very tough for Dunn to excel if Miller isn't there to take a backman.

Neitz and Robertson are still injured. It's to the detriment of the team for Dunn to be our #1 key forward and apart from Miller there's not much else except for more young kids.

Others would say you can't persist with Miller in a position where he's only had a couple of great games (v Barry Hall and Pavlich in '06 at the 'G if you want to count that as 'great'. I think he's not been as good as we or he'd like to have been, period.

So you think there's a similarity between Miller and Lynch, who turned out to be a handy forward - yet this is somehow entwined in your case for making Miller a backman? ;o

I'm not sure why playing him in the forward line means he needs to be a great 'contested mark' power forward. If he can lead up the ground and can work on providing a 'push-up' target as well as kicking the occassional goal or three that's fine for me.

He doesn't need to be Carey to play in the forward line imho.

With our injuries to our backline I think Miller alongside blokes like Bizzell, Bell, Chopper and Fergie will be of greater benefit in the long run!

Looking at the long term we have Neitz and Robertson both in the latter stages of their career. We're probably going to be short KPP's at both ends of the ground so it's more about where Miller is going to be a better contributor.

I agree that Miller doesn't seem to have the forward smarts of Dunn, but just because he may not be a power forward doesn't mean he doesn't have a role to play in our forward line.

i think dunn would benefit with miller CHF it means he is getting 3 or 4th best backman once neitz and robbo are back, miller will get back to taking his marks again and then people will then have a go about his disposal again (which has improved 100% this year)

miller gets lost at CHB, he is out and out a CHF who loves the big long leads and the plays the link up man very well and when we move the ball quickly and he isnt having to compete against 2 each contest he will take much more than he drops, also look at how many times we either kicked it over his head or made him stop and prop to wait for the ball because they couldnt put the ball out in front of him, that was a massive difference between the 2 teams yesterday, they hit pav on the chest, we put it on our forwards heads and let the defenders come over the top

brad miller has been our no1 forward pretty much all year, he is leading our goal kicking!!!!

but he was double teamed yesterday, pretty much all game, we got a quick break outta the backline, and brad had 2 freo guys spoiling his marking

when we have neitz and robbo in the team, miller gets 3rd best backman, and with the confidence he is gaining at the moment, will be a stronger contribuotor then

plus he shows more heart and passion for the jumper than most in the team

    With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.     The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm.
