Kate Roffey's AFL Launch

Featured Replies

There is s video of Kate Roffey accepting the 2021 premiership flag in this afl.com article, really worth taking a look:

I am so happy that Kate is our club president. She is not only an outstanding speaker but just an outstanding person. Her inclusiveness and clear love for all the players, staff and demons fans is really heartwarming. I'm so looking forward to this season, Go Dees!

Kate was brilliant. Loves Perty,  Goody and all of the club PLUS what a speaker. Did it off the top with no notes. Never looked down at all. One of the best things that has happened to our club. May she stay on as long as she wants.

Very good speaker and representative of our club.

Great humility shown by Kate in accepting our Premiership Flag.  We should be very proud of the the people who currently run our great Club!

Heads up on the club website are 2 outstanding videos released today.

First is Kate Roffey's speech last night at the AFL Launch where she accepted on behalf of the club the Flag. 6 minutes without notes hitting every key message. Brilliant

Bettter is a 16 minute summary video of the GF, including player insights/ineterviews I hadn't seen but importantly the bench discussion between coach and skipper on keeping Jackson in the ruck,  and Goodwins 3/4 time speech (or an important piece of it). Not to be missed.

Round 7 is here, with the ANZAC commemoration games taking centre stage. Who are you tipping this week, and which results would be most favourable for the Demons?

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

Who would have imagined, when the season kicked off early last month, that Melbourne would emerge from the opening six weeks with wins over both Queensland powerhouses? At the time, Gold Coast and Brisbane were the competition’s early pace-setters, the flavours of the month, and the prospect of the Demons toppling both within the course of a fortnight seemed remote. Yet here they are, banking those scalps alongside home victories over two traditional Victorian rivals and building a quietly impressive resume.

Before Sunday, the last time the Brisbane Lions had walked onto the turf of the Melbourne Cricket Ground, they celebrated the pinnacle of the sport - an AFL premiership secured in emphatic fashion for the second consecutive year.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

From the outset, the Casey Demons lacked any spring in their steps. They were out-hustled and out-bustled and finally outplayed by the Brisbane Lions by 38 points on their home turf in perfect conditions at Casey Fields.
