Two games in inner city Melbourne and now a ‘home’ game at Casey.
I would love to go to more games but I’m not going out of Melbourne to watch us. We need to find a home venue in Melbourne ASAP.

As far as I know there are no plans for a new home venue for the women. Gosch's will be re-developed to a full training oval but won't host games. Casey is not convenient but I've got used to driving out there now

I don;t think i'll go to the game today. Too hot. Hope the girls can handle the heat ok. Running around in 33 degrees is no fun

I'll be there, to take the baton from you city slickers!😁

Casey 20 mins and MCG about 1hr 10 mins including a train . I ain't complaining about casey but nor do I complain about the MCG.

This was going to be the first game of the season I was able to attend when the fixture was released but I have too much work. I still hope to be able to watch some of it. St. Kilda have looked very poor in their first two games so hopefully we can put in a really good performance. The weather will be challenging but it was hot last week and we played pretty well

I’ve seen most of the teams at this stage. I reckon St Kilda are a firm favourite for the wooden spoon. They are very limited

Adelaide and Freo have already built up percentage over us so we need to close the gap. It’s quite possible percentage will decide home ground advantage in finals. we have to be ruthless with the weaker teams.

Put your foot on their throat girls

Early days but I reckon on current form Adelaide would be flag favourites atm
Freo will be stuck out of home for a while and perhaps that may work against them?

Reckon that whilst our girls will be playing todays game on its merits, they will already have one eye on next weeks clash against the Crows in Adelaide.

Huge game next week for sure. Hopefully we can avoid the dreaded "health and safety protocols" and can field a strong team

Hand balling to players in a stationery position. Kick the ball

Good pressure by the Saints. We're really rushing every possession because of it.
Domnated by the saints so far but we're defending pretty well.
Saints by 7

Great running pass by Hoare to Harris who marks and kicks a goal for us.
Saints 8 Dees 6

West has the most awkward kicking style i've ever seen. She needs a few sessions with chocco

Three good passages of play where she wrecked it by kicking mongrels.

Sloppy from the Dees. Should be further behind. Hopefully this quarter, with the wind at our backs, we can find our rhythm

Gee, the skill level seems really down today.

I've not seen such amateurish fumbling since my first date when I was a teenager.

Katie Hore, though! Snuck up on her like a ninja.

Looking like an arm wrestle when we needed a good win.
Just not clean enough with posessions and kicking at goal.

Hope this doesn't turn into the loss that costs us at the end of the season.

So much for percentage. We're in a battle here. Other than Harris the whole team needs to lift.

Saints giving everything, we need to stick fat.  Hold those easy marks and hit targets Dees.

Only got here near 1/4 time (car parking and reception for electronic tickets leave something to be desired...)

Gusty wind a factor for set shots (bit to learn there?) Temperature, too? Also affecting their 'revolutionary' possession/ transition game?

And certainly not 'winning the ground ball' as they have been.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
