Am from the area myself... W'bool, that is. How's the weather?

Cool at night, but a lovely day today, gets a bit windy on occassion. I am getting to know the area, we have a house near Tower Hill. I spend two days a week cutting the weeds they grow so quick.

Not too many Dee supporters but enough, the colours are being worn around town.

Reckon Balls will try to get glen in the past players group if hes  not already . Funny enough I do remember the name , shame he cant special membership into top 100 players in last 50 years :)

I play golf at Woodlands, which is in Mordialloc, with a Glenn Boland.

Sure, Boland took 6 for 5. But then he got carted. Gave up 2 more runs while not taking any more wickets. However, he's a Vic, so I hope he keeps his place and can pull his weight in the next Test.

Six for seven off four (21 deliveries). That means 15 dud deliveries. Definitely room for improvement.
P.S. you know your cricket side’s good when a bloke takes six for seven but isn’t guaranteed a spot in the next Test. 😁
Not unlike when your footy team’s so good that a bloke who kicks six goals doesn’t end up with the Norm Smith.
❤️💙

Boland bowled at test standard. Excellent line and a length that enabled him to gain maximum advantage from a pitch that was helpful but not unplayable.

The English "batsmen" on the other hand, were simply deplorable. Apart from Root, they would be embarrassed at club level.

How could one be good at anything with a name like Root...

Fair question willmoy! With that monicker, I reckon would have learnt to fight as a schoolboy.

I would have thought that with a name like that he’d be more a lover than a fighter BBO.

Hard balls did scare me though at the nets, but i rose above them to sub-district..

Perhaps so Neil but I can only image that first introductions may have been perilous.

I'm assuming his paternal grandfather played guitar for T-Rex.

So you're not from the area? Get over to Port Fairy. Take the walk around Griffiths Island around sunset and keep an eye out for the wallabies.

I'm guessing the Koroit boys won the Hamden League again...?

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.
