Each to his own Polly. I have been known to have the odd Cognac. So far my experience is all good quality booze is nice in its own way. The only thing I cannot swallow is Sherry no matter the quality even the smell turns my stomach. Enjoy.

Agree - a good Reposado Tequila is a fine thing.

How about the real Spanish sherry OD? I like that stuff.

Have never tried it, I figure there are plenty of other options outside of Sherry.

I'm a complete novice, I've only had it at good Tapas bars recommended with the food, but it's pretty good stuff.

Same for me with Japanese and sake.

I think it goes along with your earlier statement that if you get the right stuff it's usually good.

Jon Ralph says, "the player, who we don't need to name..." When did the Herald-Sun find this new moral compass?

Dreaming. Ralph doesn't know and couldn't be bothered finding out.

Probably a request from the club. Conor McKenna wasn't treated very well last year.

Connor McKenna actually broke rules though.

I love a good Cognac. Currently have an excellent Hennesy XO wich is marvellous and smooth. Let's hope a celebratory snifter tonight is appropriate.

Why does it matter who the player in question was? He did nothing wrong, and like 14,000 other people in Victoria right now has found himself at the wrong place at the wrong time.

You want a full list of names and occupations of everyone who was at a tier 1 exposure site?

He must be annoyed enough that he nearly got an AFL game called off and that he now can't train or do his rehab at the club for 14 days, pushing his case for recovery back. He has suffered more than enough.

No, not really, liquorland don't carry the quality lines being raised here.

I have looked.

Martell Cordon Blue "Extra Old"

Baron Otard "XO Gold"

Chabot XO armagnac

Couvoisier VSOP

and Camus Ile de Re, which is no good -- I soak cumquats in it for 3 months to make a pretend Grand Marnier.

Also don't know if it's just me but other clubs especially the Dogs had no reason at all to be mad at us. A guy has had no idea he was at an exposure site and now boneheads were mentioning forefiting if we couldn't field a team?

A person who I work with was at an exposure site WHILE going to get the jab. They ended up negative but should they have been punished if it wasn't? Sounds like this kind of logic was being used on SEN.

It’s a Fluffy Duck or Shirley Temple for me.

The AFL would have never made us forfeit the game even if said player was at the nightclub at 4am. The actions of an individual, no matter how poor, cannot be held up against an entire club. Just like when the Tigers players breached quarantine hub rules last year, the club was fined and they were sent home, but nobody lost premiership points. See also Harley Bennell.

The player in question did nothing wrong. They were at a cafe before clubs were told to isolate all their players. We cannot punish players for having a life. They are not robots. They go into the community like everyone else, and it is not against any rules.

Bitter Bulldogs fans and flogs on SEN are not the people to ask about this.

Well if Dwayne Russell really did agree with this peanut suggesting we should forefit then I hope he makes/Has made an apology for getting it wrong and spreading mis-information.

A few samplings from their equivalent page:

"I can highly recommend the Five Dragons. Yez can play all rows of the reels on every roll an' change the credit rate any time yez like."

"The Lightning Cash machine at the Auburn RSL pays out jackpots more than any other machine in the joint. I should know coz I've been on the machine next to it every bloody time!"

"If yez play Emerald Fortunes at Crown, the payout percentages are higher than any other joint in Melbourne. But don't tell no-one or they'll prob'ly fix it."

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
