Just I case I had any confidence left in government advice it was destroyed this morning by two items in the media.

one study from the UK says that you are better off having a second dose of the Astra vaccine than having a second of the Pfizer vaccine. And a study from Germany which says the reverse.

Now I know that this is all very new and they are only doing their studies on the run but who do you believe?
It might be just easier to hibernate somewhere for the next two years till we know.

Don't worry mate by the time the Feds ever let us out of this country you will have had a booster and maybe even two.

Some States in Canada have also scrapped AZ for the second dose but mainly because they have so much Moderna etc

Reading the other day that many of the older Singaporeans were queing up to get the China vax instead of Pfizer because they trusted Chinese traditional medicines. My mates in  Thailand are pushing for AZ in front of Sinovac and in Malaysia people are taking anything they can get their hands on.

China hits a billion doses in the local arms in the next day or so

3. The UK has one of the highest immunisation rates in the world and are extending their lockdown.

Not amongst the young, who remain mostly unvaccinated - and where the spread is coming from.

All current studies are showing improved immunity through mixing vaccine types. I believe that the UK study you're referring to was examining safety, especially around TTS (thrombosis), where getting a second AZ dose doesn't increase risk, mainly because TTS only occurs on first doses. i.e., if you didn't get it first time round, you won't get it on the second.

That's not the way I read it bing but I will bow to your superior knowledge. I have had Astra and waiting impatiently for second one. It seems to me that what the experts don't know is in front of what they do know.

Sounds like it’s not a question of whether crowds will be allowed in Melbourne next weekend, but a question of how many?

Really hoping it’s 50%.

It’s a Essendrug home game I hope it’s less.

Agreed.

Screw that old dee. I want to go to the game. I want to see my team play. I don't care if that means Essendon makes money. I've spent too long with my side being rubbish: we're half-decent this year and I want to see them as much as I can.

It is a joke when the 30% gets jammed into one area.

Let’s have 30,000 people at the footy and make them all sit in one single bay. Two to a seat if possible. Let’s not allow 50,000 people and spread them out so there is a 2 seat gap between each group or family attending together. Because #logic

Look to be fair it's not only the seating that's the concern with 30% vs 50%. It's the toilets, entrances/exits, bars, kiosks, the trains/trams to the ground, etc.

But yes, it's a bit odd that they don't space people out a bit more.

Yeah I get it completely. I just don’t get why they bang on about social distancing but they don’t distance people in seating areas.
More bays open, less people using the same exists, toilets and bars too.
I guess it’s a money thing for the AFL. Staffing of more bays for small crowds is not profitable.

Really ? Who would have thought that money influenced the AFL?

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
