Unfortunately, Oliver and Petracca will 'take votes' from him and each other which makes it less likely that any of them will win it.

One of the biggest myths in football I reckon. 4 times out of 5 the brownlow is won by a gun midfielder in a top 4 team, despite having other good players 'stealing' votes. It's damn hard to get votes in a losing side.

Unlikely.

Perhaps not as individuals, but there is some merit in the argument that as a group we are more often likely to be right than wrong.

Ah, the old Delphi method.  Yes, that works when the group is composed of experts. Not the thoughts of a hundred idiots like us.

Idiots? But I'm sure each poster is an expert. At least, that's the impression I'm sure they want to leave me with.

I think all of us would like to think of ourselves as experts.  But if we were, we’d be working in the industry. Wouldn’t we all love to have a job at the MFC? Then we could cast votes for the B&F. ?

We can console ourselves with the thought that the soft cap is the reason why we - the acknowledged experts about everything to do with the MFC - are not working at the club. What other reason could there be?

Votes

Let me indulge my biases a little:   If the Bulldogs are so good where are their players in the Coaches votes!!

They have a more even mix of team players than we do?

The coaches gave Salem the 10 on Saturday.  7 to Tracc, 6 to Lever, 3 to Oliver and 2 each to Gawn and McDonald.  Despite Gawn polling, he has lost the lead to Mundy but holds second.  Salem now up to 5th and ahead of Oliver and Tracc.  Lever also in the top 20.

You are very quick NC!  I moved the post to the Post Game thread.  Unfortunately, Max is no longer in the lead.

Decided to be a bit humble and left out e that mischievous line.  They have a few more players in the 11-20 range

Justified at the moment - but I wonder if Goody ever gives votes to the opposition!

Good stuff Swooper.  I could have sworn Trac had polled in all 6 games.. do you know which one he didnt get votes for?

A good thing too. I don't want any of our players burdened with a Charlie around their neck going into the grand final.

Media discussion (sorry...) after this weekend has toyed with Petracca verging on being the 'new Dusty'. If the comparison were to be/become fully accurate, I'd be happy for it to go all that way, Mazer!

(On a side note, I'd also be happy for the opposition to have our Charlie around their necks - as in albatross, not as in free kick...)

Round 1.  May 10, Oliver and Lever 7, McDonald 4 and Fremantle's Brayshaw picked up 2.

McDonald getting coaches' votes in 4 of the first 6 games is not only possibly the biggest surprise of the year but also very pleasing. His performances have completely changed the way we play. I feel for Ben Brown and Sam Weideman "languishing" in the seconds while they wait for an opportunity.
