“May I have a word with you?” the coach said to his star player.

“I’ve heard something on the grapeviney and I’m sorry to tell you your place in the team is gawn. You were spotted late at night hanging out at McDonalds with a hore …”

“it was Hungry Jacks on Smith Street” the player corrected “It was late at night, I was feeling fritschey. What was I supposed to do? Just lever there?”

“I told you to keep out of harmes way. Don’t cry me rivers now. You’ve got no brownie points left” the coach fumed.

“Are you talking about the incident in the spa(r)? Go look at the footage, there’s no way you could picket was me. You’re being petty. This is just like Salem Witch Hunt”

Then there was silence, like all those years ago in Wembley when David Bowey began to pray - Shaw that the audience was so quiet too that not even a sparrow could be heard. The player began to neale.

“Bullen [censored]” said the coach “Absolute  bullen [censored]. You’re not even religious”

With that the player got up and walked out the daw never to be seen again.

Nice work Col, no room for ‘choc brownie points’? Anyway that was a reach... keep up the word smithing

Someone needs to get off the Bailey/Bayleys and have a Clayton (the drink you have when you are not having a drink) ?

May Day, May Day, cried Petty officer, Jack Sparrow. Ships Gawn down like a Hore's nickers!

COL, I Chuckled Out Loud!

Nice work. I might use this opportunity to show off my AFL Fantasy name this season: "Daw to Daw Salemsman", which had the edge over "UnbeLeverball", "Pickett Pocket", "Next Daw May-bours", "Gawn without a Trac", "Kickin' Brown the Daw", "Hunting and Traccing Sparrows" and "Hunt for the Weidepeople".

It was a long night I spent working on these...

You've progressed a long way from someone who came up with the identity of "Dee man".

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
