Have to operate better in forward zone. They are cutting it off at will. Great effort by Mcnamara. Hope she will be okay. Tyla Hanks has been fantastic.

We are getting hands on the ball first. The pressure is being brought by us.

Paxman in everything,  Zanker looks on, Scott nearly, Hanks playing in tight.

Crows getting intercept marks in our forward line.

Making it so hard for ourselves. Get some composure ladies

Need to kick the next one. a 3 goal lead would be very hard to reel in

Playing as bad as the Collingwood game. No flow or structure.

We're moving the ball really sluggishly and can't seem to get the ball inside 50. Not looking good for us at the moment.

Is this a situation where we need Gary Lyon to give them a rev up at half time, like when he got into Clarry's ear before Spuds Game a few weeks back?

Around the ground we have been the better side but there is no structure in the forward line. Just keep trying girls.

Their backline is beating us.

They tried to be a bit smarter with the delivery into the 50, but it didn't work.

We have our backs to the wall.

Hanks with plenty, Paxman not there in the last 8 minutes, Scott nearly, as with Zanker who missed a set shot. Not much from L. Pearce yet. Mithin, Gay and Heath ok, our backline is not dominating.

We're not out of it. Need to get rewards for our entries.

Go Dees, hit back

Competitive performance just need to lower the ? when going inside 50.

Call on Kayo is that Adelaide centric now on ?. These people need to get out of town occasionally.

Bannan, sadly, is not applying the required finals pressure, leaving it to others.  Our backline sans Goldie misses her energy and lacks kicking polish to safely transition.  Essentially our midfield is keeping us in it; Hanks, Paxy, Mithen, Gay, Zanker and TRex going ok.

Mick will need to weave some HT magic but without the outside run of McNamara we look comparatively slow.  Big effort girls.  C’mon Dees!

Huge ask now. Not sure what Stinear can do. They need more than guts. Gotta kick a goal somehow

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
