So who do we prefer to play in week 1, and who has to win in the last round to make that happen?

I'd like a home qualifying final

I'd prefer if we avoided Collingwood altogether given the shellacking they doled out to us in round 5. As well as we are playing at the moment a beating like that leaves psychological scars.

For us to finish 4th the filth will have to beat Adelaide and Freo will have to beat North. On top of that we will have to beat the lions. It will be difficult to see all those 3 results happen.

I reckon a lot has changed since that match. I'd be more inclined to think Collingwood would be over confident.

Playing the pies would be better than traveling interstate I'd think. The girls have played some great footy since we copped that belting.

Assuming Melbourne win, we only need one of Adelaide or Fremantle to lose to finish top 4.

Yes your right. Problem is I think they will both win.

The pies will beat Adelaide. They’re a much better team. Plus they risk dropping out of the Top 2 if they lose so they can rest on their laurels. agree Freo will beat North

I watched Bris beat North last week. The Lions have lots of talent on all lines, very impressive.  I will be pleasantly surprised if we win.  I hope Downie is available.

The priority should be to stay in Melbourne throughout the finals if at all possible. Looking at the draw however it's hard to see us not have to go to Brisbane for a preliminary final.

Adelaide beat Collingwood by 1-2 points in a low scoring game could work.

We have a good first week of finals, it'll be at home as I understand. hopefully we get Freo, as they have been found out by the better teams this year.

I think the crows might win and therfore will play Freo. Another return trip for them. If the filth win we will play North.

So we play Freo in final next week. If we win that then we play the crows in the prelim. The filth lost by too much and finish 3rd. I hope daisy can be back in 2 weeks coz if we beat Freo adelaide have never beaten us when we have daisy playing.

We're the form team and have nothing to fear from Freo.

Daisy won’t play but Gay, Parry and Bannon to step up. Kate Hore, Eden Zanker and Lauren Pearce will be pivotal.

Our perfect home record to remain intact.

Dees by 15.

Freo had a Carltonesque draw. They played Gold Coast, GWS and West Coast twice. They did sneak past the Blues by 4 points but have lost to Brisbane, North and us along the way. In fact the only top 6 side Freo have beaten were Adelaide when the Crows kicked 1.7 all the way back in Rnd 3.

Of course anything can happen but after 2 losses on the trot Freo won’t  be brimming with confidence. With them having to travel on consecutive weeks the game will be there for us to win.

Looking forward to heading to Casey on Saturday although i would prefer a later starting time. I'm confident of the win

Fourth-placed Melbourne will take on fifth-placed Fremantle in a home Qualifying Final B at Casey Fields on Saturday, April 3 at 1:05pm AEDT.

Need to get past freo first but I am happier to be in Adelaide's side of the draw than Brisbane's.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
