Do you not think Jordan lewis is a quality person with something to offer?

His playing days at Melbourne consisted of a whole lot of shirking contests and responsibility. 300 games means he’ll have something to offer but I’d rather an experienced qualified coach who has a commitment to the club. If Lewis’ is just going to hang around over summer before resuming media duties I don’t see that as value for money.

Jordan Lewis copped one of the biggest hits I’ve ever seen on a footy field going back with the flight of the ball. He nearly had his head taken off his shoulders. You don’t play 300 games and win 4 flags by shirking contests and responsibility.

His indiscipline and stupid 50 metres penalties got on my nerves. But I never doubted his courage or commitment.

He was part of a great club and team. And worked with Oze. If the club think he has something to contribute then I’m all for his involvement.

Dont agree, thought he commanded things in a few wins that helped make the finals. Not everyone has to go for the same ball, Melb midfield style. At Hawthorn when winning premierships some went for the ball, others did off ball work, some ran forward to space, some ran back to defend.

Caught the last 10 minutes or so as they were going through the Q&A and I have to say - big props and hats off to the club for doing this and engaging the supporters in this way. Thought the Q&A might be a bit awkward and clumsy but it was really quite succinct and professionally managed – I really enjoyed seeing other Dees supporters in front of their screens knowing they were as passionate as me and not complete fruit loops. I’m sure the club carefully selected the questions but they were queries I’ve heard a lot about on this site so they haven’t shied away and it appears they might have made some ‘learnings’ along the way - only time will tell I guess.

Love this club and it was nice hearing from the people entrenched within it that they are working as hard as I hope they are. Go Dees.

l was invited to read out my question on zoom and was happy to do so. l. believe the club chose me on the basis that my question followed a common theme of interest. Having a succinct question and being a 25 year member may also have helped

Lewis is a quality person, end of story. Anything he can help us with in improving is welcomed.

Think you will find he is doing quite well in retirement, with media work and an interest in a winery.

Also, he won't be getting paid much for a part time coaching role in the off season.

Having played over 300 games and in 4 premierships, puts him ahead of every player on our list.

Apparently, as I understand it, he played in the midfield of a successful team at one point. Let me google him to be sure.

Perhaps, maybe, may I posit, that his experience, skill, and his personal relationships with current Demons may make him a better candidate for a position than, say, other superfund topping up old guys?

No idea why my post was deleted but still keen to see your psychology degree on your Goodwin views, and to be fair to Jordan I think he has more to offer an AFL club that you do to this forum, but that’s just me.

I think you are just trying to Break my balls.

Of course Jordan lewis has more to offer than me regarding football.. He is a 4 times Premiership player.

Why would you say you are still keen to see my psycology degree when I said I havent got one and this is an anonmymous site? Very odd.

And whats your post being deleted hot to do with me?

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.
