So we now move to Friday night for the next instalment of a slow and agonising death........

Nope. Even if gws win I doubt we will make up the percentage. Sunday is our best hope but we still need to manage to beat the dons, these are the exact games we lose

Agree. Holman was a tool. 3 metres out !!!

A golden rule for all AFL PLayers.

NEVER play on from a mark in the goal-square.

Think...Riewoldt and Shaw in the Grand Final.  Changed the game, much like Holman tonight.

It’s only about 50 points to make it up, assuming GWS did win by 3 goals, just means we have to beat bombers by 5, not out of the question if you know what is needed going in.

Just to add this is basically the reverse of what happened in 2017

"Only 50 points"'; wow, you make it sound so easy

The line is currently St Kilda 5.5 and Melbourne 12.5  which would mean a +7 point make up. It would honestly be a miracle if this happened. It should be a wake up call for those games against Hawthorn and Collingwood where we casually wasted time kicking the ball around the back line in the last 5 mins when we had all the momentum. Percentage is the most important its ever been this year.

Gut is telling me the Giants are our best bet. Saints might get a little nervy Friday night, the biggest game for them in probably 6-7 years.

The last 7 meetings between them read 5-1-1 Giants way with an average winning margin of 32 in those 5 wins. A 32 point Giants win on Friday will almost guarantee a sleepless night for most ‘landers.

Don't write off the Dockers, Dogs believing their own hype as the team no one wants to play in the finals.

Sunday Night in Cairns ball like a cake of soap, Hogan and Co up and about.

Don't forget the shorter quarters

yep. Freo played the Cairns game perfectly against us. Hopefully they do the same to the dogs who thrive on outside run and good disposal

We beat Hawthorn by 43 and Collingwood by 56.

Those aren't the issues when it comes to our percentage.

I'd instead be looking at losing to Sydney by 21, Fremantle by 14, or Port Adelaide by 51. Even giving half a yelp in any of those games would have reduced the margins and stopped the bleeding of our percentage.

Zak Jones will miss Friday night’s clash with the Giants with a hamstring injury.

The St Kilda midfielder reported soreness following the Round 17 clash against the West Coast Eagles, with subsequent scans revealing a minor strain.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
