Just wondering who is the best footballer MFC have had on our list who were from Queensland - seems to me most were not elite:

Ones I remember, in pecking order of better to not as good:

Clint Bizzell

Brad Miller

Joel MacDonald

Rohan Bail

Ricky Petterd

Corey Wagner

Braydon Preuss

Josh Wagner

Oskar Baker

Jake Spencer

when compared with: Dunstall, N Riewoldt

Trevor Spencer. 3 games in 1990. Key forward/ Ruck.

Brad Miller was the best recruit from Qld. Played 9 years and was a very very good contributor as a key back and key forward.

The Bizz, by a fair margin

Was Jeff White originally from QLD, or did he move up there post playing career?

Whitey was from the Frankston area and was drafted by Freo from the Southern (now Dandenong) Stingrays.

I'd agree that Miller and Bizzell are the best two banana benders to have played for us.

Of that list Bizzell by a country mile. Need more time to see if Baker can play as he still young but I think has a bit. I am far from being a Miller fan.

The Bizz was terrific in most regards, and very reliable as a fair dinkum all-rounder.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
