Would he improve our list? Does he meet a need? Is there anyone better available? Would he cost much?

Highly talented but flaky. Can kick a nice goal. Could never cement a permanent position. Though for different reasons is like replacing a Garlett with a Garlett.

Agree - flaky...tough team to crack into a permanent forward pocket role

At least he'll chase? Runs hard....

Strange one.  The kid won the Rising Star Award in 2014 but it's been steadily downhill since then.

Maybe other clubs have worked him out and he'll never be any better than plain old ordinary.  Can't say I'm all that keen.

Pertinent questions that should be asked of all possible targets, hope they are asking them.

IMO

He would improve list (marginally) He does meet a need (Marginally - pace &  fwd nous) there are probably a few better and he would not cost a lot.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
