Grand Final time in 2-3 years.

Ch 7 will love it

Doesn't make any sense to me either for tonight or for a GF.  Surely if the AFL just has to drop the afternoon GF (for fear of not maximising $ or whatever), then a normal night game is far more sensible than 4:30pm.

That will happen a few years later.

We want a Day game, the Broadcaster wants a night game.

The change will slowly happen

But I don't see how doing it gradually makes any sense: 4:35, 5:00, 5:30:6:30, 7:30???    It's not something that can be achieved by creeping up on us.  Or are we boiling frogs?

I want a Day game. But the NRL Final has shown Ch 7 what they will have in time.

4.35 will become 7.30

Money on it

Is todays timeslot due to GWS able to get home tonight if they win so they aren't staying in melbourne another night? Because if it was at night they wouldn't get back in time for the sydney airport curfew.

But go gws today. I just don't think I could survive a week of a rich/coll gf build up. Last year I went to sydney to get out of the gf for the weekend, this year I can't afford to go anywhere plus I have to work the next day.

I thought that might be it but wanted confirmation.

Begs the question of why today's game was not played last night and R v G tonight

That might be the AFL's thinking and fair enough too but, if so, there's no reason the game couldn't be played at the usual 2.10 or even 2.30 timeslot.   4.35 makes no sense at all to me.

Just at the Sydney airport waiting to fly back to Melbourne, I think a lot of people have seriously underestimated the level of support the Giants have. I have seen four people in Giant Jumpers.

Been drinking? Double-vision?

Still blame hawthorn for giving the pies an easy ride to the prelim with gifting them a  top 4 chance. Seeing Joffa and all the filth fans walking over the bridge chanting just makes you want to throw up. Hopefully he is looking miserable at the end. Ed to in the stands, hopefully he is looking angry.

Interesting to hear David Teague and some of the carlton players were there last night obviously wanting to see his players gain insight to what finals footy is about. I know we were in a prelim last year but some of our young boys that haven't had finals experience hopefully have tuned in to see what finals is all about.

If you are mumford you would just bang straight into grundy 1st bounce.

Mummy has nothing to lose ...he needs to be his usual 'crash in' self to put Grundy off a tad

Cameron plays the way I always hoped Hogan would for us.

Can goal and can play a dominant chf role when needed

Leave Tomlinson and throw a giant bucket at Cameron next year a la Gazza's suggestion?

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
