Yep, he was hopeless in the season proper, especially in finals.

Good article. Injuries and players out of form have exposed deficiencies in our game plan - but this is absolutely fixable, and IMO is not as dire as many here characterise it to be.

Highest nimber of missing starting 22 games by a mile.

With a developing list and coach this was alwa6us the issue. Gus didn't fluke 3rd on the Brownlow last year. Just needs a good professional pre season like most of his mates.

All the rest of the commentary is fugazi with media needing to produce content no matter how shallow.

We do not having a best starting 22

Brownlow third means nothing. Woowie won one on the back of half a dozen or so red hot games.

I rate nick. But ignoring him last 4 3rd place getters excl. gus were Martin ablett sam mitchell and swan josh kennedy. The point is gus is in good company and part of a reliable long term form predictor if he can get himself right.

It ain't nothing mate.

I think the sentiment has been more about how bad we have been for 55, yes 55 years.

People need to stop living in the past. While I admire people who have supported the club for a long time the last time we won a premiership is not relevant to the coaches and players.

Same could be said for every Club however other Clubs have blueprints for success. We have no road map. next year we will likely have no players with premiership success and a coach with no Premiership success.

The most important thing that HAS to come from this year is that the match committee, coaching department, and players learn from it. I agree with Duck that we have a midfield that is very capable and we haven't been blown off the park many times this year, for me the two biggest issues this year has been low confidence and a game plan that is either super messy or the players aren't working to.

We'll have a softer draw next year, that is a certainty. We will hopefully have players that have been struggling given the opportunity at a full pre-season. We will also have pick 2/3 to play with whether we go to the draft or we use it to trade with.

It's been an awful year, I just want to move on from it.

not sure how many teams have gone from 4th to 17th in one season and then bounced back to finals the following year and, perhaps its the MFCSS but I can't see how we will play finals next year.

We were fifth at the end of the home and away season not fourth.

We did it or similiar in the 98  99 2000 period.

Judd is also a finals believer on the dees in 2020.

the best season I have seen as a supporter was the 98 season. I left to live overseas in 99 and was gone for 10 years so last year was the best since 98 for me.

News flash. Never coached to a GF let alone a flag. FACT.

This:

"it only takes one or two guys to be a little bit off for entire gameplans to break down. If one player is out of position, it can make several others look slow or indecisive. One break in the chain, and it can be detrimental to a team's overall confidence."

You said he never had premiership success.

You were wrong.

At least get your facts right before trying to twist them poorly

Last time

A player with no premiership success means a player who has not played in a Premiership

A coach with no Premiership success means a coach who has not coached to a premiership

But you knew that in the first place and just wanted to argue. Maybe its the full moon.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
