Comprehension isn't jnr's strong suit.

Yes, I worked that out last week when I described the game as a gripping contest that we were never really in, and he highlighted the first bit and called me Pollyanna. Another case of being unable to add two sentences together to deduce context. Wish he’d just stop replying to me tbh.

Extraordinarily poor bench. Only Baker and perhaps Lockhart deserve to be there.

Corey Wagner has played 5 games and been dropped 3 times, Smith has played six games and been dropped / or injured 3 times. Josh Wagner at least has only been dropped twice in 10 games, but was lucky to get a few of those. I can't understand what we hope to achieve by playing any of these guys.

As much as I want the team to play well and pick up some wins over the last six weeks, I fear that only a couple of massive losses on the way home will finally stir Goodwin from his slumber.

Just out of interest, what were you expecting?

Club web article says the team will fly up on Saturday.  Isn't that a bit odd?

Doesn't leave much time for training on the ground and fulfilling our community obligations.

They have done this previous years, injured players (Garlett one this year) come up mid week and fulfill our community work, this is normal

Best 22

JETTA. MAY. LEVER

SALEM. FROST. HIBBERD

BRAYSHAW. VINEY. FRITSCH

PETRACCA. TMCD.  ANB

MELKSHAM  WEID  HANNAN

GAWN  HARMES OLIVER

PREUSS  LEWIS  NJONES HUNT

(Jsmith Vandenburg would be considered in best 22 if they ever get fit)

Tomorrows team has 18/22 so we are getting back.

Tomorrow has Petty Lockhart cwagner jWagner rather than Tmcd Melksham both injured and Weid and Hannan really out of form. Probably harsh on Hannan as he had no preseason.

Think we'll put up a good fight tomorrow..

Not saying you're wrong or anything, but what makes you think so? We seemingly have nothing to play for. Some would say 'pride' I guess, but we don't have a great history of that truly motivating us.

Actually that sounds about right, I knew something happened. Certainly hope the players have been made aware of that during the week.

The player who mouthed off when coming to the bench was Cameron in the GWS game.

Quite possibly yes. The pressure is off.

The players can be champions again and then get to Bali early...

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.
