Can’t be serious, why would anyone think that’s a fair reaction. They do it for the love of the club, so much for “side by side”.

only god knows why any human being who is not a complete moron would willingly join the collingwood cheer squad and those that do are obviously completely incapable of loving anything worthy of love

Some people are stupid enough to believe the banner disintegrating jinxed the Filth and resulted in the loss. Post hoc ergo propter hoc!

Just wondering . . . does anyone know if a team has ever kicked the first five goals in a granny and lost the game?

Yes. They mentioned it in the commentary at one point. The commentary said something like 'Collingwood have only once before kicked the first five goals in a GF. And it didn't end well that time'.

I think it may have been 1939.

So the new successful structure is 2 ruckmen and a tall forward line.

Indeed

Grundy was double teamed and lost

Meth coast has 3 big guys down back barass schofield and mcgovern

And 3 big guys upfwd with vardy there

Everything old is new again

Richmond who pioneered the one tall fwd is now adding lynch

So two rucks can work

I wanted like anything for Collingwood to lose but the way it happened I wouldn't wish on any big footy fan. I'm really sensing a 'be careful what you wish for' situation here because I could not have gone through that if it was us. I hope we're never in that situation where we get pipped at the post.

The lack of respect for defenders is getting ridiculous in footy.

in the norm smith voting McGovern only polled one vote and Schofield didn't poll any. Both of them were instrumental in the win

not saying Shuey doesn't deserve it but I'd like stats/touches to be less involved in voting across the awards

Great game Ben E. Alas, daughter has opened it already and any chance to repackage into several gifts (who doesn't want a hand warmer for Christmas) has evaporated. Bloke walking to Richmond Station ahead of me had five. That's a family worth of presents.  Hope you enjoyed the Eagle Rock tune that you also experienced in WA.

Interested in your Hogan thoughts in the Draft/Trade Cheeseboard forum. RTG

RTG, I’m having PTSD episodes even thinking about Eagle Rock and the cauldron of blue and gold, Optus Stadium, with the din of whinge and entitlement!

Looking at the 100+ pages on the Draft/Trade Cheeseboard, I don’t have much to add about Jesse. I and the girls would love him to stay - should I get one of my daughters to send him an envelope with 20 cents in it (remember Chris Grant)?

I am interested to know - if he goes - what’s going to replace the quarter time entertainment of Hogan’s Heroes and, more recently, Hogan’s High Ball. May’s Haymakers or Kolodjashnij’s Ukrainian Tongue Twisters?

I'm thinking 'Keep your feet with Jordan Lewis'

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the

GAMEDAY: Rd 15 vs North Melbourne

It's Game Day and it very well could be the last roll of the dice for the Demon's finals aspirations in 2024. A loss to the bottom side would be another embarrassing moment in a cursed year for the Dees whilst a win could be the spark they need to reignite the fire in the belly.

    THE HUNTER by The Oracle

Something struck me as I sat on the couch watching the tragedy of North Melbourne’s attempt to beat Collingwood unfold on Sunday afternoon at the MCG.    It was three quarter time, the scoreboard had the Pies on 12.7.79, a respectable 63.16% in terms of goal kicking ratio. Meanwhile, the Roos’ 18.2.110 was off the charts at 90.00% shooting accuracy. I was thinking at the same time of Melbourne’s final score only six days before, a woeful 6.15.51 or 28.57% against Collingwood’s 14.5.89

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t
