Salem to miss Saints

Mission hopes he only mosses one... out for at least 10 going by daves track record of wishing...

Interesting to see that Salem's disposal count (18.7) and disposal efficiency (67.9) are below average this year, and Contested possessions 9.8 (average) in that same article.

Probably a fact of putting him in the midfield for the first 5 rounds, i'd prefer to have him coming off the half back - rather than being in the middle (feel that we perform worse with him in there unfortunately). Hopefully recovers soon and get's back in to improve the teams kicking efficiency (although 6 rounds of stats imply otherwise).

According to foxsports.

Shame cos I was liking being able to pump games into him.

bugger!  has been great to see Salem get some form together. have loved seeing him in the middle and winning some clearances.  we've needed it with Viney out and Oliver out of form.

He is a tough nut to not only play but play well with a broken thumb!

This one stings. He has played some really consistent football. He was asked to be more inside mid the first few rounds which he did OK with and had great tackling and second efforts. I thought even though he made mistakes on the weekend he played off half back and looked more comfortable and was key with his ball use in space. He and Hibberd really steady us across half back and allows Lewis to play more wing for better forward entry.

This is a worse out then Trac for us structurally. I image Wagner will come back in.

He be back.  He is starting to show a bit.  Hoping he's a big part of future D's.

Does this mean that ANB gets a reprieve?

Trac in for Salem?

Or wagner and trac in for salem and ANB?

I don't think now that ANB needs a reprieve because of his hard running.  Not many do that.  He seems to be playing that role.

IF, we get Gaff for next season, then ANB may need to be doing a lot more then.   But now he's scrapping by.

I'm no doctor, and like many around here I suffer from more than the occasional bout of MFCSS, but a break at the base of the thumb that required surgery seems like more than a single week lay-off to me.

I don't think Petracca will return this week.

Sounds like it's too much of a risk to go from being hospitalized one week to playing an AFL game the next.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
