The biggest problem in the game today. 

Under achieving players and clubs are forced to pay and recieve the same wage as the Top Clubs. 

Where is the room for incentives to improve?

bonuses should always be available, just like they were when Norm was around. 

Only the Senior Team got paid back then, you didn’t give up your spot easily. 

The last 2 years have shown us all that the mere dangling of a place in the finals is not enough to get this list in the right frame of mind.

Players used to get more match payments for finals IIRC but I assume that has gone out the window.

The negative is that if the amount was substantial players could gravitate to the club more likely to win. 

For our NFL friends are bonuses paid for super bowl wins etc?

You can turn that negative into a positive very easily - player welfare is critical. The onus goes back onto our whole MFC community. 

This has been our biggest weakness over the last 2-3 decades. However, thanks to Peter Jackson the club is working hard inside the football department & administration team to solve our issues. I have spoken with him on this topic on a few occasions and his views are very consistent.

And they were pretty much full strength all year. I can't remember the last time a side with such little depth that relies on so few to do the heavy lifting, has gotten as lucky as Richmond did last year.

It's why I rate the Bulldogs' 2016 flag so much higher. They were often crippled by injuries that year, but their system stood up.

No doubt Richmond had a system last year, but IMO it was right time, right place stuff.
