I cancelled Foxtel after the AFL season finished up last year but it was by far the easiest way to watch and record any and all AFL games. Most of the AFL shows on Fox Footy were garbage but I didn’t mind putting on AFL360 after coming home from work.

I was wondering if anyone has Foxtel Now or if anyone knows if Foxtel Now plays every AFL game and includes all the Footy shows the same way as having normal Foxtel does?

I did try calling Foxtel but was on hold for some time and there’s a real lack of information regarding AFL via the Foxtel Now app.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Work? You spend 50 weeks of the year 'getting ready for the trade period' - don't know whether I'd really call that a proper job.

Well I signed up for Foxtel Now (Still goes by Foxtel Play on Samsung TV’s), lucky it didn’t cost a cent through a two week free trial because the quality is very poor. I’ll look into getting traditional Foxtel with the box as the content and quality of picture is much better. My local pub at the end of my street support the Western Demons where they meet every game to watch our games live. This might be the way to go.

G'day ET, like you, I cancelled my Fox Play (through Xbox One) at the end of the season saving $50 a month (had the Movie pack as well). Recently I put some of the money into a Chromecast Ultra and signed up to Foxtel now. With the Ultra you can also use an Ethernet cable if you have one, which I do. Set all this up yesterday to watch the AFLW Demons game. Running through a 55" Kogan 4K LCD TV it was the best picture I've ever had off Foxtel. No buffering, no poor image quality and no freezing which had often been the case in the past. Only problem I had was with the initial set up where I was using my old Ipad mini to cast  and it would stall or freeze. Soon as I switched to my Nokia 6 smart phone everything went perfectly. I guess what I'm getting at is it is possible to get great pictures off Foxtel with the right set up.

Thanks dworship. I’ll pick up a Chromecast Ultra and give it a go. The old Foxtel Play app which is on my Samsung TV isn’t the greatest. I’ve read Foxtel Now will soon be getting HD so streaming Foxtel Now from my phone to the TV using the Chromecast Ultra sounds like a good idea.

Will keep my fingers crossed for you. Great thing about the Chromecast, if you're staying anywhere with half decent WiFi you get to take your Netflix , Stan etc where ever you go on a big screen as well.

I’ve been wanting one for my bedroom TV anyway (for Netflix and Stan) so if I’m not happy with the quality of streaming Foxtel Now on my main TV I’ll just use the Chromecast in the bedroom, win win.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
