Melbourne Storm .. Success

Featured Replies

Storm are the best club in Aus. They are constantly successful in a state that is not for their code. Most years they lose great players and they do not miss a beat.

Think of who they have lost in the last 10 years and how well they have remained.

Outstanding Club

Flag number 5 on the way

dam we were so close last year as well

Centimetres!!

No ideas what the rules are but gee they got a few penalties in a row there, was it BS or was it illdicipline

Great onfield success but have not really developed a following in Melbourne....almost no media coverage

Understandable perhaps but a lesson for the AFL

interesting article here on the role of ANZ Stadium in NRL.......seems that no one likes it

They have a big following in Melbourne.

And all the salary cap breaches.

Pleasure to hear Gus Gould having to praise the Storm...it must really be hurting him.

I'm surprised he didn't trot out the 'bleak city' jibe.  He's done that before.

Bring back the Western Reds!

I flew up to the grand final and it was so nice to sit there and watch your team win a premiership.  They are a phenomenal team. Bellamy is the best sporting coach in Australia.

Hopefully one day i can celebrate a demons victory

He's probably right then.

Anyone associated with the NSW Blues would know bleak when they saw it.

A big storm fan. Go to quite a few games. They have a serious "no nonsense" approach. And they are fortunate to have sensational leadership.

Cameron Smith - probably the best captain in any code in Australia.

We’re back! That was fun. The Mighty Dees’ Season 10 campaign is off toa flying start with a commanding 48-point winover the Western Bulldogs, retaining the Hampson-Hardeman Cup in style. After a hard-fought first half in slippery conditions, the Dees came out in the second half and showcased their trademark superior class, piling on four goals in the third termand never looked back.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
