Lynch's argument was that Brisbane's top liners in the midfield were at least the equal of Melbourne's or arguably better. To illustrate he asked Roos to name Melbourne's best midfielder, to which he eventually said Jones. Lynch responded with Beams being Brisbane's best. Straight off the bat you can see that he has a point. I love Jonesy but when he's named as the best midfielder you're not off to the most intimidating start.

Wouldnt give up Jones for Beams.

Their stats are almost identical, the difference being that Jones is a leader while Beams is not.

Lynch is kidding himself if he thinks their mids match up to ours. We have one of the best midfields in the league.

They are bottom 4 for a reason. No team with a great midfield has ever finished bottom 4.

No, it's not the truth at all, at best it's your opinion. One obviously not shared by the medical and conditioning staff.

Well, of course its an opinion, what else would it be on this forum. Club Meds also have opinions on when someone should come back once an injury has healed. They then pass those opinions onto the selection committee about their likelihood to reinjure, level of conditioning and any residual pain.

So i guess it was just a co-incidence that all 4 players that recently returned from injury have really struggled then? Don't like the odds on tbat

Watts back in 2's

Salem in 2's

Gawn by his own admissions was average until recently

Viney played well against port and has been very average since despite his undoubted courage. Now has another foot injury caused quite possibly by compensating for the prior foot injury

Just a quick question,  if there's meaning in the voices, is it still psychosis  ??

Great opportunity for the Demons tomorrow to win heavily against one of the bottom teams who traditionally don't do that well in Melb mid winter outdoors! If we could have a big win aside from pushing us one week closer to a finals spot, could also start to build some momentum for a decent crack at winning a final.

Plus games into Jones, Hogan, Brayshaw & Vince after injuries & suspensions will be a plus. Putting pressure on Watts, Salem, Bugg & co to really fight for a spot in the team.

Re Lynch, there a good, bad & delusional  commentators, he's obviously had too much sun living up North!

Go Dees, don't screw up & we have & know how, but go out & win by ten G's tomorrow!

So just to clarify - if we win tomorrow, we definitely play finals?

No but we would be a 90% chance.

If we absolutely smack them by 12 goals...

The Eagles would have to do something similar against the Crows in Perth next week.

We need to all but seal the deal vs. the Bears. I'm not concerned that the Collingwood players will lift to farewell Buckley, but they will play as if free of him. Their list is more talented than their game-plan, and if they decide that there's no fun to be had in circle-work and choose to go direct we could be playing a dangerous, unaccountable beast.

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. 2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield. There could be more of that in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #3 Christian Salem

The luckless Salem suffered a hamstring injury against the Lions early in the season and, after missing a number of games, he was never at his best. He was also inconvenienced by minor niggles later in the season. This was a blow for the club that sorely needed him to fill gaps in the midfield at times as well as to do his best work in defence.
